Does it come with a mouse?
It's a mechanical keyboard with built in lapboard, mouse mat and a mouse based on the Mamba. It's slightly magnetic so it doesn't drop off the mouse mat. It folds up nicely and I tend to leave it under the sofa out of the way when not in use. I really like the ease of use side of it, if you're 12 you can even mess about with the nasty lighting options and make it do loads of stupid strobing effects etc. The battery easily lasts a week with static backlighting and it takes about an hour to charge both of them.

Keyboard and mouse support is down to the developers. Microsoft support it at a system level so not their fault if a developer chooses not to implement it in a title.

I had a look at the Razer Turret after it was mentioned above and on the Razer website they list about ten supported games on the XBox. I didn't think KB/M support was so lacking.

I know, Bethesda's twitter support was bombarded with people moaning at them and all they do is point you to the support site to ask for it as a feature. It's been over a year and they've ignored it completely. I tried playing the 2016 version with a joypad and gave up, fps should be played with kb&m imo, the most annoying part is that Microsoft own them so why not just implement it in all their games?

It's getting better, I play (far too much) COD so it's been used daily for that for six months. Metro supports it, STALKER will to. I think going forward the support will get much better, I personally would rather not play an fps if it doesn't support it.

Sounds like you would be better suited to PC. I doubt all FPS games will be supporting a mouse any time soon as it's very niche in the console domain and it ruins multiplayer gaming if mouse users aren't put in their own matchmaking group, which would fracture the player base.

No thanks, been there, done that. It's been touted as a feature by Microsoft and now they own the developer I find it frustrating that they won't implement it in some of the world's most popular FPS franchises.

Having been playing COD cross play for the past six months I can safely say that it really doesn't ruin multiplayer, I initially thought it would but some of the controller players out there are simply awesome and combined with aim assist are routinely coming top of the hardcore DM lobbies.

Even if it is only for the single player campaign it should still be added.

When I tried using a mouse online vs pad players my KDR was 5x better, it’s not close and not up for debate whether a mouse is better than a pad as the difference is so large. This has been tested many times across the years since the Dreamcast days, and there is a reason every developer offers the option to pad players to block mouse users.

KBM is an optional input device, so it will never be universally supported unless that changes.

Sure some very skilled pad players can beat the brain dead mouse users, but you would have to be a huge amount better to beat a mouse user with a pad. The difference is day and night.

Im going to be buying the Turret as well as like you I just can’t get used to a controller for FPS games. I’m also going to get a XIM as well so that I can play any game with it.

Have you tried the XIM? I had the XIM4 back in the PS4 days and found it a bit of a faff overall. There was a lot of messing about to get it set up correctly. I've not tried the APEX but hear it's better.

I'm going on playing cross play (PS5/XBOX/PC) over the last six months, the difference isn't as large as you'd think, certainly not 5xKD. Maybe the SBMM is skewing the results? An example being Spratt, he is amazing, one of the best quick scoping players I've seen and only uses a controller.

What's the best way to try and get a Series X?

At the moment, I've just got some sites bookmarked and keep manually checking them.

Sign up to alerts on stockinformer. If you have an account on both the Microsoft store and Amazon, you'll be able to click straight from the alert and then order without having to enter all your details.

SBMM will put your average more user against the top few percent of pad players.

You need to alternate between the 2 frequently against the same player pool to appreciate the difference.

I checked one of his videos and yes he's very good with a controller, but you still see that fraction of a second delay as he lines up many of the shots, and that's a delay the best mouse players wouldn't have.
