Ok i know many will say best to have both.. But I am not in the position to have both. I have a XBSX but i keep thinking over trying out a PS5 to see what the fuss is and the controller of theirs too.. Has anyone made the move and regretted it..

What i may miss on the Xbox is the Resume of 3 games

Is the Dashboard on the PS5 as good
IS the graphic the same or better on PS5?

I own both, first time owning an Xbox (Series X) after I gave up trying to buy a GPU during the silly times, and in truth there is little difference between the two when it comes to cross platform titles. The exclusives make all the difference really and I would say the PS5 edges out in front for the types of games I enjoy. I would add, that exclusives or current gen only titles have been slim and few and far between on both consoles.

That said, the first few games I did play on SX via Game Pass, Ori, looked and played fantastically on the SX combined with an LG OLED.

I don't really understand the fuss when it comes to dashboards / UI. I play games on the thing and the method or way to launch games is irrelevant to me. The PS5's dual-sense controller is seldom used in my view and somewhat gimmicky with only the Astro game, which comes free with the console, showing off its potential.

in short, focus on game exclusivity.

I have both and have had both throughout the past generations. There's very little in it, all down to personal preference but I do feel graphically the xbox edges it slightly. I always thought the xbox controller was the better, especially as I use an elite however PS5 controller is a huge improvement over its previous gens. PS wins easily on the exclusives with the added bonus being that most of them are old so can be picked up cheaply. Interface UI and the online system of the Xbox I feel is streets ahead of the PS - I have preordered the new COD on the xbox purely for this reason.
The original xbox was built around online gaming and online play for the PS2 was added later, almost as an afterthought. I feel like nothing has changed 20 years down the line but maybe that's just me not letting go of my bias.

Thank you appreciate your time. Useful information

PS5 has more exclusives, XSX is a better thought-out console.

XSX technically has more GPU grunt but there's not much in it as devs either don't care or can't make use of it. It sometimes shows, like in Plague but overall they're pretty evenly matched or actually the PS5 comes out on top slightly in some multiplats. It depends but the difference is completely negligible when it comes to the overall experience. XSX has proper VRR and better BC though.

Online goes to the XSX, controller easily goes to the PS5, though you have to be aware Dualsense's battery lasts much shorter due to all the tech.
Ergonomically speaking, some people prefer the Xbox controller and that's perfectly fine. Both are good controllers, one is packed with tech, the other is a no-frills comfortable controller with much longer battery life.

I went with the PS5 because it had more exclusives, some of which turned out to be quite overrated, but still it has GT7, Demon's Souls and some other games I like that'll never be on Xbox and haven't made their way to PC yet either.

Also, I have a PC that I use for music production and gaming which I planned to upgrade with a new GPU (still hasn't happened though:p) so there wasn't much point in going Xbox.

I could happily game on either, TBH. If you want to try the PS5, I don't think you'd regret it. There's always the option to go back to XSX later should you want to.

I own both. but the Series X is my first Xbox console. Prior to that I'd use my PC to play any 1st party MS games. I have a more established history with Playstation, having owned the PS1 and PS4 prior to getting the PS5.

I find myself using the Series X more than the PS5. Two reasons : UI, online and cloud features are better on Xbox ; Games Pass is tremendous value for money and gives access to hundreds of games, many of which you'll have to pay full price for on PS. If you can get to grips with MS Rewards and find an efficient daily routine to harvest those points you'll never need to spend a penny on games/subscriptions again.

In terms of raw computing power both consoles are very similar so there is little to choose between them. On paper the Series X does have more powerful hardware but it's seldom utilised by developers. Haptics on the dualsense controller is far better than the Xbox controller, but if the recent road map leaks are to be believed that gap is about to close. Personally, as much as I like the haptics of the dualsense controller, I find the Xbox controller more comfortable to use for longer gaming sessions, plus battery life is much better ( you really need to own 2 dualsense controllers and a docking station ).

I think the deciding factor for most people is going to be which platform has the most appealing library of games/exclusives. Sony has focused on cinematic, single player action games for the last decade and that formula has served them exceptionally well. For me, having played all the exclusives from the PS4 era and now into the current gen, I must admit I'm getting a bit bored and would appreciate some diversity eg. AA titles, more indy support. The time & budget it takes to create AAA games these days means that Sony can usually only manage to release 1-2 games per year. If one of those turns out to be a duffer eg. Forspoken ( I know, its a Square Enix game ... but was developed as a PS exclusive with Sony investment ) then that year can feel a bit barren.

Xbox, on the other hand, has an abundance of indy and AA titles but a lack of top quality, 1st party AAA content. And that has been an issue since the end of the Xbox 360 era.

At the moment, if I could only choose one, I'd probably go with Series X. But I say that knowing I can now play Sony exclusives on PC .. albeit a year or two later than the console release.

Yeah forgot about swappable batteries on the xbox. Big plus point especially if you only have one PS controller although you can use it while plugged in if you have a long enough lead. To be honest I think just being able to play the Last of Us games is reason enough to get a PS. Nothing comes close on the Xbox imo.

Also I fully agree with the exclusivity thing. Me and both my son's have ditched Xbox for PlayStation because the exclusives just are'nt there. Gears of War topped out at 3 imo. Then there's Forza Horizon 1 is still my favourite. Xbox has become boring. Also why did they split the ram pool? You telling me they couldn't just make it 20gb? So stupid

I have two Xbox consoles, the One X and Series X. Game saves zip across the network so well between both consoles. With PlayStation (5), I believe you need PS Plus to get online saves. Otherwise your game progress just remains on the PS5. Quick resume is useful. PS5, you can minimise the game and then resume.

PS5 exclusives, well, they are good. But they also come onto PC, as others have said now. Xbox to.

PS5 Dashboard vs Series X. Well, Xbox now has an improved dashboard, it may be a bit slower than PS5, but a tiny tiny amount to me. The PS5 dash is OK, nothing revolutionary. The PS5 dashboard looks shinier due to HDR, I think.

Series X upgrades, for games. I think a lot of Xbox One games have free upgrades to Series X version. Not all, but many. PS5 I had to pay for the shiny new PS5 version (looking at your GTA V).

Controllers, my original PS5 controller loses power so quickly, after a few hours I lose a third battery. The controller is only 8 months old. I had to get a new one, as a back-up or put up with wires...I find adaptive triggers on PS5 annoying, I worry I will break them trying to use them in No Mans Sky. The Series X controller after three years, works great still, just has a noisy rumble.

Oh and silence in games. Series X, games, video. Silent. PS5, you turn on, you can hear the fan 6 feet away, play a game the fan ramps up a bit. I have the 1.2 version of the PS5, with the quieter system...

Oh, of course. Elder Scrolls 6, Xbox exclusive, however when it arrives God knows. But we get Starfield! For almost free...

That would have been the same on the Xbox though, it's not a situation unique to the PS5.

My launch PS5 is nearly silent, if you're hearing the fan to any significant degree it's potentially faulty.

One other thing to note is adding additional storage to the PS5 is far, far cheaper. You can get a decent 2TB SSD for less than MS charge for their proprietary 1TB equivalents.

My PS5 fan is really noisy when it boots up, loudest I have ever heard on a console. Settles right down shortly after though and is barely noticeable. Xbox on the other hand is almost silent.

Both my Series X and PS5 are very quiet. Can't complain about either on that front.
I've yet to buy a disc for the SX but the PS5 certainly makes a racket if a disc is inserted on boot-up; completely silent afterwards and I have both consoles laying horizontally within a corner TV unit but with several inches of space around all sides (excluding underneath) to allow some air-flow.

My digital edition PS5 is totally silent, significantly quieter than my quiet gaming PC with Noctua cooler and fans. I was very impressed.
