you guys should try out ken, hes actually a really rubbish character with very few weapons, if u play with him for a while it makes ur ryu 1000 times better. his fireballs are awful, but hes got the best footsies in the game imo, and his recovery times are instant. also his punches and kicks all link together nicely, makes ryus links easier

I played Ken for a while and he really isn't that bad as you are making him out. It's a lot of fun to just kara everything and he has a lot of tricky ambiguous crossups. He has a couple of decent overheads and kara throws are really good.

I found his footsies somewhat lacking personally, Ryu's seemed better and going from Balrog's amazing footsies to Ken's actually somewhat bad ones really hurt, the step kick was nice but it really doesn't make up for the sloow sweep and low forward.

He's only bad if you play him like Ryu and try to zone with fireballs and don't kara throw every 5 seconds. :)
 
A good Ken player can give me headaches what with numerous set ups he has to generate damage and openings. I think I have played Kenny's and OMH's Ken and they are both decent. Kenny is right when he says if you play Ken like Ryu you will get crushed for the most part. If you are going to play Ken like Ryu, play Ryu lol. early cr.mp beats Ken step kick I think.

Ken has a far superior mixup game than Ryu IF he gets in, but his footsies suck balls imo, because in this version he doesn't get a knockdown from them unlike SSF4 AE
 
Gav you still have to play AlexGrandMaster yet, that game will take you both to 13 sets each so get it played! :)

Remember guys, 13 sets by Sunday.
 
Well come AE 75% of the characters become a lot worse including Ryu. :D

Yun/Yang/Adon/Makoto/Fei Long army incoming.

Don't think I'll be playing it though.
 
I've not had much luck tonight finding the league guys i need to fight.

klc0100 was online but playing MVC3, i did ask him - but he didn't reply :(


I still need to fight: Madbeats - Yup/Rav - Robgmun - Distorted - klc0100


I should be online tomorrow daytime - i need at least 1 more fight... i'm on 12.

Problem is: i'm away from Friday evening until late Sunday...so not looking good.

Don't worry about it Jaguar, your attempt to play has been noted. :)

BTW, I sent klc0100 a message on XBL a few days ago asking him if he wishes to remain in the league as he is getting left way behind and he still hasn't replied, so I don't see him finishing his games. We will see if he manages to catch up by Sunday but if he is still way behind he will have to be eliminated.

Ah, I see I have left the easy games till last :D

I should be online over the weekend as next week I have to go to Belfast for consultancy so won't be able to play during the week.
 
Guys, try use this thread to arrange your remaining games, and to state what times you will online and available to play so others know.

It will be too late to sign on Sunday night and then post saying no one else is online, the weekend is almost upon us and very few have been attempting to arrange games. If you are on 13 sets or more you are alright...
