Xbox360 or PS3?

Just about everyone here has advised you to get a 360... Personally I am much, much happier with my PS3 than the 360... Can't be bothered to go into all the reasons.

What TV you got?

If it's a good one get a PS3 for it's bluray player,

Single eh? Well then it's gotta be a PS3... when you pull your next girlfriend and bring her back, you can woo off her clothing with it's asthetics and by throwing on a blu-ray disc and amazing her with the pic quality.

Or get her home, take her clothes off and ask if she wants a game of COD4 :p

If you're interested in the exclusives out already on either, make your mind up on those.
If you like the multi-format games then the Xbox360's perform better bar 'Colin McRae DiRT'.

You can get some cracking deals on either though, and both are excellent.

PS3 imo,

I've owned both a couple of times now, and the PS3 wins out I feel, my personal plus points over the 360 are, (this is my own list).

PS3 Pro's

1) Built in wireless.

2) Built in blue-tooth.

3) Built in power supply unit.

4) Blu-Ray. (Arguably one of the most future proof players on the market)

5) Whisper quiet.

6) Better Build quality.

7)The ability to upgrade your hard drive using standard third party 2.5" Sata drives.

8) Free on-line gaming.

9) The ability to use third party steering wheels & Headsets.

10) Internet Browser.

11)No forced advertising on your XMB.

12)Higher quality audio. (This is not opinion, it is fact)

13)Bountiful amounts of 'techy' options to play around with from DVD filtering to Audio bit-mapping etc, the PS3 is a 'gadgeters' dream.

14)The ability to remote control your PS3 from your PSP, now with the added audio out via PS3 during remote play you don't even need to turn on your TV, you can essentially use your PSP as an advanced remote control to use your PS3 as a high quality Hi-Fi component.

15)No official memory card needed to back up games saves.

16)Controller recharger included as standard. (plus easy to upgrade via use of cheap third party longer life battery's)

Future Pro's

17)PlayTV

18)Home

PS3 con's

1) No in-game XMB.

2) Multi-Platform Titles are often allot poorer on the PS3.

3) Lack of AAA exclusives.

Good list lowrider. Some I'm not too convinced on, #16 for example. The Xbox360 pads allow a change of batteries and are cheaper (and a better build quality).
Another is #9, the headsets, yes you can use your own, but MS bundle a headset with every Xbox360 anyway, so everyone can speak (whereas most don't on PS3).

For cons of the PS3 I'd add:
  • Controller is poor and needs upgrading to a DS3 which still doesn't suit a lot of people.
  • Games cost more.
  • Console is more expensive.
  • It's big, very big.
  • It's not stackable, it has to go on the top.
  • Lack of Gamertags/Game Histories/Player Ratings
I was tempted to put 1 year warranty (in comparison to 3), but 1 year is the norm and shouldn't be judged against Microsofts recovery for their shortfall.

I'd mention having the optical port attached to the console as a positive over Xbox360 though.

Burnout Paradise ?, COD4 ?, I thought they was pretty much identical on the PS3, in fact a couple of online reviews state that the PS3 has a slight edge on antitropic filtering on Burnout Paradise.

What I was trying to get at is that only one is noticeably different, which is DiRT. I was the first person to say that Burnout Paradise looked better on PS3 on here, but it really wasn't by much and I only noticed it on one of my TV's.

on "one" of your tv's jesus must have been very small difference

lets face it, a lot of the pros and cons just listed here are really just opinions, they arent something other people might worry about for example. things like built in power supplies, or the size of the consoles, or the psp interaction, built in bluetooth that isnt particularly compatible....

there are only a few things that really are facts that everybody should consider, and thats the build quality and the games. that is, unless, you intend to do other things with the console. then some of those 'side' features become more important. the ps3 is a very impressive bit of kit but its far from perfect. it also has a lot of features that the average gamer wouldnt even be interested in.

Either way buy what tickles your fancy.even an argument get a xbox first purely cause it cheaper, if you don't like or still feel the need for a ps3 then get one of them as well.

Me personally just for the record had a xbox bout this time last year ended up selling it casue I didn't get on with it.but hey thats my opinon , and i'm still thinking about buying anther since the price is so cheap now

Nice one, definately going to get a xbox360 probably the premium since its cheaper. Roll on payday!

Thanks for everyones comments.
