Xenoblade Chronicles

Still can't beat this ****er,I dunno what I'm doing wrong,I've watched countless youtube video and the ****** still won't go down, one of my party members always dies and then I have revive them and try and build up the chain meter again,I've equipped all the lastest armour etc and I updated my gems,I dunno what to do,I'm getting frustrated at this stage :(

I was able to take him the 2nd time (level 25), I don’t know what u are doing wrong, might be worth your while levelling up the characters a bit more.

have you levelled up your arts and whatnot? you must not be using your arts wisely, you should be able to beat him at level 25 in a couple of goes

Right i'm struggling to find the unique creature for the first challenge mission, it's really frustrating as i want to continue the story but am struggling to leave without his head!

Sorry for the bump but i thought it was worth it for those that are having the same issues as me.

It seems once you've killed a unique creature before being told it's a quest monster, there's a small chance it will respawn every time you load the game, once it's respawned it's there to stay. Lots of people recommend you leave the area for a while and come back and the odds are it will have respawned by then, but what about quests with a time-line limit?

If you find the area where you know the monster will spawn, stand back a bit so you can see the spot but won't be in the way of any spawn points (being too close seems to stop enemies spawning, you don't have to be too far, just far enough so you're out of aggro range). Save the game, then reload. Keep doing this and the enemy should respawn right in front of you. It took 3 reloads (less than 5 mins) for me to get the enemy i wanted.

Thats really good news for me Streeteh. I thought that the UM once killed never respawned. Looking forwards to going back and killing the one in Mag Mell ruins now! :D

Only unique monsters for quests respawn, ones that are just 'there' never respawn, i haven't gotten to those ruins yet so don't know the monter you're talking about so thought i'd mention it :)

Also monters only respawn if you've accepted a quest AFTER you've already killed them. This then gives you one more chance to kill them in order to complete the quest and they're gone forever.

Ah shouldn't think you are too far away from that now? How many hours have you played so far Streeteh? tghe game opens up so much after you get the Monado, it's HUGE!

I'm around 10 hours in but i'm an obsessive completionist so haven't gotten far. I'm level 22 and just found the settlement on the knee where that chick with the rifle is.

ah you've been past Mag Mell ruins then! :P It's in the caves on the way to where the ether thingys are stored! Theres a UM in a U-Shaped corridor. I killed him before getting the challenge. So need to go allthe way back there and kill him.

Ohhhhh! Doh, didn't know they were called that. Haven't had any quests for UMs there yet but as far as i know there's no time-line limited quests in the first city so hopefully i haven't missed it.

[EDIT] Oh, nope i'm talking testicles, i have completed that quest. Really easy monster, i killed him without even realizing he was a UM!

Have you done the last part of sesame's preparation quests? As I can't seem to get any farther than speaking to the painter guy and then going back to Sesame.

There doesn't seem to any follow on so far.

Aye i got stuck at that point too, i assume you just have to advance the story a bit more before you can continue.

Anyone got any tips on how to improve relationships between characters? I've removed shulk from my party and replaced him with Dunban to get all three of my 'neutral' characters working together. I spent a good three hours doing quests with that party yesterday and their relationship hasn't improved at all!

So far, assuming the story holds up all the way through, this is the JRPG of the generation. Somewhat ironic that it's using last generation hardware.

I've just finished Makna forest and found out that Shulk and Reyn might as well be in a civil partnership. BUT finally they are both friendly with Sharla! :D

I'm not sure why you are having problems, I don't find this game difficult at all. Are you concentrating all your party member's attacks on a single target when you face multiple enemies? Shulk's shadow eye art + backstab is quite effective if levelled up, especially after lowering enemy defences through that side slash art (name escapes me at the moment).

On a side note, this game is really quite beautiful for a wii game. The waterfalls in manka forest look great.

Ya thats excactly what I am doing I think, must change that, when I press zr and the up arrow key it doesn't seem to have any effect on the party

I've haven't been using a controller so I'm unfamiliar with the control scheme for it I'm afraid but good luck anyway, the next area you'll come to looks nice at night :)

While none of the compulsory battles are difficult, this game does offer some challenge in the non-compulsory segments. For example i just had an utterly brutal battle with one of those lizard creatures in their fortress in the swamps. Was epic in every sense of the word, it was constantly throwing future premonitions at me and i was using skills to offset them just as fast.

I love this game.

You shouldn't really be having any trouble against creatures of the same level as you unless there are lots of them. Have you been to the top of the fortress to complete the quest, I had to do a runner from there ;)
