Xenoblade Chronicles

Really enjoying this, the Guar Plains look amazing for the Wii.

Wait until you see the jungle river, far more impressive in my eyes as there's a lot more going on. Also i like the marshes as they employ fantastic artistic direction.

To those who are further through than me, I keep hearing of 'trading', as in, not buying from a shop but trading with random characters. Is this something that you unlock? So you get an idea of my progression i've just killed the perceptive boss at the end of the jungle.

I could trade at the beginning of the game, some npc's you can talk to and some talk/trade.

Just run up to random people and see if the option for trade comes up.

Yeah, if you are using the wiimote you press the '2' button near characters who will trade. It tells you on the right of the screen if you can trade with the person. I think you need to trade to get unique materials for rebuilding colony six. There are usually a few folks to trade with in every village/settlement.

Oops, did not know that!

I'm using the classic controller, hopefully that means it's one of the shoulder buttons or something. I'm doing ok rebuilding colony 6 so far, but i'm sure it'll come in use in the future.

Is there anymore stock expected for this game and/or is it in stock anywhere atm? Or has it gone the way Tales of Vesperia went, and just had the one push at release after which it will just fade into the never regions of niche games never to be seen on a store shelf again.

When I recently picked this up there seemed to be a a fair few places with copies of it still in, both normal and the one with the classic controller pro.

Try using http://www.find-game.co.uk I think only 1 online place has it in stock atm.
When I went to buy it online nobody had it in stock so I got it from a local game store.

This will now go two ways; Tales of Vesperia where it just disappears or Demon's Souls where it will pop up with huge amounts of stock everywhere in a couple of weeks.

It depends entirely on how gutsy the publishers are feeling i guess, will they attempt to surf the success of the release sell-out, or will they cash their chips now and consider this a quick tidy profit from the West.

I started playing this casually last week and I have to say it's pretty awesome, although I'm sidetracked by Deus Ex right now, I can never decide which one to play!

Anyone else still well stuck into this?

The game is just massive, i've only just finished the Prison Island segment and it's taken me 50 hours! I'm doing every little sidequest i can find, so i'm 10 levels above 'normal' enemies which makes the game a bit easy. The boss at the top of Prison Island got wiped out with one chain attack, however the optional named enemies are still providing some challenge so i'm not bored.

Roughly how far through the story am i? 75%?

this game is absolutely massive, im on valak mountain, fighting the mechon dude at the end, Im underlevelled as I dont do any sidequests, I accept all but dont go out of my way to complete any, some get completed through natural course of playing though.
One thing I havent bothered doing is gem crafting, at all, so yesterday I went back to colony 9 and crafted all my stuff into gems, took an hour and a half Id amassed so many bits
reports are 90 hours to complete, doing ZERO sidequests
