** XFX RETURNS: WITH SPECIAL RMA TERMS FOR OcUK CUSTOMERS & INCREDIBLE DEALS!! **

Are the DD coolers any technically any different to the ones they had on the 7950's because the one I had sounded like an aircraft taking off at 60% and as the 7950 wasn't exactly the coldest of cards it only got worse when it got toasty in gaming.

I replaced with an Asus DirectCU and the difference was night and day.

Not an AMD fan, never have been and prolly never will be but DAMN!!! they be some sexy looking cards. Well done XFX. :)

It's going to be a shame to water cool and remove those sexy coolers. Going by the very high ambient temperature in my flat, ~28 oC, then I think I'll need to water cool it when it arrives.
Always wanted to try water cooling anyway. ;)

Edit:
With a custom fan profile was staying under 70 oC playing Thief in ultra settings on a 1200p screen. Rather happy with that. At first it was hitting 90 oC but then I realised when squeezing it into my old Antec 1200 case, soon to be upgraded, I forgot to plug my case fans back into the PSU.

@ Muz333, I have 2 x GTX680's in SLi and the top card is getting a tad toasty in the hot weather. I have thought about water cooling my cards but we are nearly upon the 8 series now... worth it? I don't know.

Yes, it would be a shame to remove the covers from these cards. They are IMHO the best looking cards around at the moment, both AMD & Nvidia.

Only you can decide, based on how often you upgrade, if it is worth it or not. I upgraded from GTX 285's to a single R9 290. That was a heck of a long time to wait for an upgrade and I feel a couple of 290's would do me until I'm ready to jump into 4K when better cards are out.

Do these still suffer from VRM temp problems? First review I read about them the plate covering the VRM's and memory wss made of plastic!

Are any other XFX products returning to OcUK ?

Not yet, OcUK could be trailing a selection of XFX GPUs and see how this goes down, well I hope after recommending this to a friend :)

Their products have been great for me, however their customer service was very well known for the wrong reasons - going by a few good friends examples - their support ignoring you initially or responding to your messages unless you badgered them and why I knew about it after helping them out a little.

Yeah I like their PSUs, all the ones I got ...are still going nicely still as I'm in the market for a new one soon I think and I don't want a Superflower .

I have the Superflower 1200W and it is doning great on a [email protected] + 780 Ti Classy, no complaints whatsoever. Only thing people may not like is perhaps the LEDs (not that bright at all) and the name but its a solid manufacturer that equals Seasonic (says a lot).

If it goes like most others...

You pay OcUK for a new card, they send it to you, you send back the faulty one, they refund you.

Basically to keep your rig up and running without having weeks or days of downtime waiting for a replacement.

and what happens if OCUK claim the card wasn't faulty ?
seems like far more hassle than it's worth.

like my current GPU I get texture corruption in games, I'm convinced a portion of the cards ram is corrupt or something but it happens so rarely that if I ever tried to RMA it then I know they would say its fine. even if I had loads of video evidence they would likely say it's my motherboard or something else.

I liked the old days when manufactures would do a courier hot swap on your doorstep
