XP SP3 now on MSDN

Is that link on MSDN compatible with XP x64?
It only says X86 in the file name, and I can't find an x64 update. Anyone know?

windows xp 64bit is based on windows 2003. if/when 2003 gets sp3, then that will be the time you'll get it on xp64. :)

iirc, service pack 2 hasn't been out for long (well compared to sp2 for normal xp anyway :p)

Ahh okay, that makes sense, I now remember reading that its based on win2003 previously. Thanks marc, you saved me a lot of endless googling!

Stupid Question...

Is there a new UXTheme.dll I need etc... I tried to search but everything seems to be for the RC not the finished product?!?...

Cheers
Sim :)

few posts back mentions a hacked sp3 utxtheme.dll i did it ghetto style and reused my sp2 version of the file works fine

same with the logonui.exe used resedit to modify the sp3 one but instead of the image being displayed full screen it was jsut in the corner like the graduated blue circle that is on the standard one, i assume this is to do with the strings dictating the size and not to stretch it.
so i just reused my sp2 one again, as utxtheme.dll it works fine, id imagine there were only basic changes done to these files to "fix" custom themes and logons back to basic xp ones

Cooooooool... I'm in the process of re-installing Windows at the mo (Mahoosive Virus/Malware infestation somehow!!).. I'll take this opportunity to install SP3 now I can get my Themes working again!!

Still can't see any major differences... Must all be under the hood!... it's nowt lile going from SP1 to SP2...

One problem I've found since installing this, is that I can't access file shares on USB volumes over the network. Works fine on internal disks though.

What you get for your money is good.
We have the top MSDN subscription package.
It gives us access to all OS's (desktop & server).
All development tools (Visual Studio and components).
All Office packages
All Dynamics packages
Plus of course the likes of SPs before the general pubic and access to beta versions.

We get something like 10x licenses for each of the items we download so long as they are used in a testing environment.
So it means we can have a "test" network with 2003, 2008 servers on and any MS application we like and don't have to worry about extra licensing.
