True, no way it can be drivers, your card should show the BIOS fine I think it was justc ertain ATI cards that didn't show the BIOS with these panels.
I didn't even get the BIOS with my single link DVI cable, just nothing, so fingers crossed it's just the cable!

Anyone found good settings for the catleap yet for ati cpanel?

I've tweaked mine a little but I still find it a little bright at times in some situations.

Have to say I am amazed by mine, the screen is simply incredible! After spending the day at work using a pair of old dell 17" tfts coming home to use this is unreal - picture quality is out of this world by comparison. Anyone sitting on the fence I would strongly recommend a purchase whilst they can be had so cheaply. I used the iMac 27" fairly extensively at uni and one of my friends has a Dell U2711 and this in no way feels out of its depth compared to its premium rivals.

An excellent purchase

Just to add to my previous post, my power brick is barely warm to the touch, and so is the top of the screen, so no heat issues at all after being on for just over 2 hours so far. Also, not a single dead or stuck pixel!

Tried it on my mates GTX 260 , got this, not good is it :(

Wouldnt fire up with a dual link dvi , but got this with a normal dvi.

Still going to wait and see what a new cable does.

I did check to see if I had a spare dual link cable I could lend you to test but it's gone awol.

At least they're not that expensive to buy.

The way I understand it for that resolution (2560*1440) a single link DVI cable doesn't have the bandwidth to carry the signal hence the garbled meaningless lines on screen.

I could be wrong however.

Yes, but what about when it boots just the bios first? wouldnt it display that ok?

That I'm not sure about. You could try asking on Overclock.net. They've got a specific Achieva Shimian thread on there and a massive generic QH270 thread.

I'm sure someone will know for certain what your issue is.

Wow I cant believe how cheap these are. Almost half the price of the Hazro I bought and with the same panel. Even the casing looks very similar and so does the stand. Makes you wonder what the mark up on a Hazro monitor is?

Marketing, warranty, taxes etc..

Looks like the cable other people have had probs with the cable that comes with the monitors..

Just ordered my self a dual link dvi cable.

I've waited long enough for this monitor and if my cable doesn't work I will be gutted at having to wait even longer!

I'm using one already for 3D so when this new monitor arrives I'll just carry on with the same cable because I know it works.
