My crossover arrived yesterday, all working perfectly. The screen on these monitors is nothing short of beautiful. Got one tiny stuck pixel towards the top but it's a small price to pay.

Took 3 days to get from South Korea. Never seen shipping so fast!

Well chuffed :)

Been over 48 hours since I contacted the seller about the faulty power brick, still no reply "-_-. Just hoping the replacement I got from the river store arrives today.. Or tomorrow.

But at a closer distance would they look better compared to the 27"?

I'm considering selling this one if the 24" can do so at 1920*1080 res, it's 3" smaller but I'm coming from a 22" 2233rz so I think I'd be able to adapt to that. It's just a question of whether anyone would have a genuine interest in the uk of buying this in the MM?

Stick it on the MM mate.
You aren't allowed to sell for more than you paid however.

I'm still JUST trying to resist lol

To me the 27" @ 2560x1440 is considerably better than any 1080p display I have seen or owned especially when close.

If you are viewing 1080p material then it will not look it's best as it is being scaled. It would be the same as running 720p material on a 1080p display.

Google some 1440p videos I found one that was filmed by apple to showcase the 1440p res. It is simply mind numbingly good.

I agree - I went from a 26" asus tn 1920x1200 panel to a catleap; I also tried a hazro 30" with res of 2560x1600.
the catleap just makes things look better; I cant imagine what a large oled will look like in the future.

dont get me wrong I Really like the size of a 30" monitor its just quality wise its not that much better then a catleap; and ya my wife didnt really like the hazro so going to wait till next year to buy one of those instead.

oh was going to say - the 27 2560x1440 picture looks like you dont even need aa or af at all; the higher res makes the picture that much better.

Just had my refund paid in.. That means the monitor only cost me £155 and a couple of hours of my time time servicing a car..... :D

And to think my new graphics card and PSU cost me nearly a grand when I got pi**ed the other night and bought them then had the bright idea of playing online blackjack! Doh! :)

Ahh the fun you can have with 2560*1440

Well I currently have a 22" 1680*1050 and I'm eyeing up the Samsung s24a300bl now which is 1920*1080. Might regret it but I like to watch a lot of media at my desk and the 27" is too big for that unfortunately :(

Lord-Jaffa, sending you a message now

Got my replacement adapter in the morning- damn green light turned off as I plugged it in. Turns out for some reason the power port on the monitor is backwards so you gotta turn the jack 180 degrees for it to go in.

Now here are my problems with the monitor- because of the weird way the 4 pin power jack connects to the monitor it's not fully in- but thanks to the wire routing on my monitor arm it's not gonna be an issue as slightly wobbling it means the difference between the monitor being on and off (also it made crazy sounds whenever I tried to plug it in like it was gonna blow up).

Finally it loaded and OH MY WORD The backlight is maybe a touch strong- but I'm certain that's because my Viewsonic's one was pretty poor.

So I connected the 2 monitors side by side (Old Viewsonic vx2260wm in portrait mode) and the difference in quality is RIDICULOUS. This Shimian is nothing short of devine, and cos the seller tested for dead pixels I can confirm I double checked it has NO dead pixels right now.

So yeah, the quality difference is so big it actually pained me to see my good ol vx2260wm that I've grown to love over the past few years. Even the extra 1080x1920 real estate wasn't worth it because the 2560x1440 panel can fit 2 windows side by side without compromise (and at a better scaling than the portrait monitor).

Eventually, I gave up my Viewsonic to my bros so they're using it right now 2 TN panels and I've decided to stick with just the 1 Shimian monitor.

I've also checked to see if the difference in input lag made any difference on games like Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, SF4 Arcade Edition 2012 and Marvel vs Capcom 3 and I can confirm there's next to no difference. It's definitely 1F or less of lag.

The scaling on the 360 + Shimian is VERY good, you really can't fault it picture looks better than ever could not pick up on any stretched pixels.

Of course I have no data to prove this but when you've played as long as I have you can definitely tell the difference between ~1 and 1.5f of input lag.

I'm honestly really damn happy with this monitor I dunno what else to say. I genuinely can never go back to using a TN panel again- no matter how good it is.

And some thoughts now I've had mine (Shimian Achieva QH270-Lite) for a while...

First of all, it looks AWESOME. The colours are much much MUCH better than my other (admittedly cheap) monitors.

The resolution is also so so good - if you've ever used an Apple device with a retina display (iPhone best example) and then gone back to it's predecessor (i.e. the iPod touch), the difference is that big.

The power cable plug is a bit rubbish, though.

Certainly WELL worth £200... I paid £203 for mine, although I'm still waiting to see if any customs charges arrive.

Pictures...

20" on the left, Shimian in the middle, 22" portrait on the right, and far right is a 17" TV & 13.3" laptop
