didn't filter2000 change his name to siphon_filter or something similar? (I may be getting confused).

I think quite a few people changed their usernames when the boards were wiped in 2002, and unfortunately I don't have any notes on who changed their nickname to what (there were a few threads at the time).

He broke up with his wife.
Last time i spoke to him he was slumming it in some bed sit.

He was, and hopefully still is, absolutley insane.

Thats funny, just typing in "P3 500e" in google gets a reviews of retail chips in march 99.
In fact, we have the P3 600 in january (probably cartridge, put you had to run the flip chip in an adapter anyhow)

And i distictly remember arguing with a guy on here about how awfull the Rage Furry MAXX was.

We also laced into a guy who tried to convince us he bought 20 Geforce 256 SDR's and was converting them to DDR's to sell on at twice the price.

Which puts us early to mid 99.

But hey, dont let facts get in the way of anything.

Trubador, what a legend, bit of an arse but still did some amazing things like the fried egg on a cpu

can't remember why he dissappeared now (i know him from a different forum)

im not trying to make you look wrong

just trying to be accurate on the dates i was here and that was when the 500e was first available to buy. reviews and previews were mid-late 99, but they were released from nov -dec99.
and i seem to recall overclockers website starting in mid99.
theres a thread about the history of overclockers in the archives, i'll go have a look at it.

p.s i had a rage furry maxx when i killed my tnt2u, it was an awefull card lol

*edit* they must have cleared out the archives :/
