Yellowstone

Just finished watching episode 14, really enjoyed it at least it had a conclusion which in my book makes a real change to the current shows on Tv these days.

Cheers All

Thought the final episode was pretty good. At least it didnt end on a cliffhanger like a lot of stuff and everyone got the send off they deserved...happy or otherwise.

Although the whole of the final part of the season felt as if it was Taylor Sheridan acting out his rage over Costner and literally tearing the house down but I guess he gets to do that given how successful all his various projects are now.

Cant see how they can make a whole spin-off with Rip and Beth on that tiny (in comparison) ranch in the middle of nowhere however....

Yeh this is my thoughts as well.

Summed up perfectly well.

yeah a lot better than ones where they try and do " artistic direction " or basically we will leave a chance for it being open to possibly milk again at a later date... :D

Yeah, I thought it was good enough although a ilittle basic and simple? Also, I really don't like Beth these days, she's too overly dramatic and self-centred. Did anyone else actually want Jamie to win that fight

I was dissappointed with the whole of this second part of Season 5. I get they had to make changes due to Costner's situation, but they had plenty of time to rewrite things. Too many characters weren't used very well and it just became the Beth show (not forgetting lots of horse spinning and skidding...).

They should do a spin off where they find the pile of bodies tipped over the cliff. Terrible last series with a pretty weak remaining cast. Rip was the only one I actually liked.

They're both behaving like 5 year olds fighting over a toy... I'm not satisfied with how it ended, but I'm glad it did, the direction the show was going in wasn't a good one... It felt a bit rushed and some events seemed meaningless.

100% agree.

I think maybe that's a sign of a good series though? This isn't a movie where it needs a big bang ending. It was just reaching its natural conclusion. The politics of what went on just made sense so it wasn't "shocking" or a rug pull. Jamie dying was an execution like any other they had done....

You wouldn't understand the last episode if you'd watched all the seasons. And if you had watched all the seasons, the last episode just slotted everything in place nicely. No shocks or tricks or cliff hangers, just concluded nicely. Albeit a bit boring!

And that's all he'll see, and keep going.

This sums it up perfectly for me.

Started watching this last week and just got to series 3 and found it to be another great series by Taylor, certainly enjoying his work at the moment.

Wasn't in a rush to get the last half of s5 finished after seeing how bad it was going down with most viewers and the memes it's spawned of horse spins every episode.

Was I happy with how it's ended compared to the how it started no however no point not seeing the show out after all this time.

This last half to get the show finished really did feel more like a feeder series for the spin off shows that are due to come and to advertise the 6666 ranch as Taylor owns it, Texas desert doesn't work as a back drop compared to the mountains.

Saw this comment on Reddit and sums it up:

Governor murdered in his own home
His son, the AG, allegedly tried to murder his sister 6 days later
The surviving family then sells a historic, beautiful ranch for pennies on the dollar and then flees the state immediately

The detective: “Nothing fishy here!”

After coming back to Yellowstone from watching Lioness / Kingstown this shows what happens when Taylor is left to his own devices with the plot and doesn't really care for the show anymore.

Was just going to say Spoiler that!!!

They (beth) needed to get almost killed by him in order to pin the murder on him as well as take down the companies that were involved in trying to buy the ranch.

The lead up to it with 1883 saying a few generations then we get it back, hinted he already had his ending.

There was also bits and bobs through out saying they weren’t making any money, running at a loss as well as they having to get those horses etc

It was also established that they wouldn’t be able to pay the tax on it…

I still think it was a decent ending, better than other season endings anyway!

Sheridan has been hugely successful - so of course the knives are out now.

Would imagine its only a matter of time before he is "cancelled".

After loving all the previous seasons, the ending to 5 felt really underwhelming. The second half of the season just felt like it was trying to wrap up for wrapping ups sake. Definitely felt the loss of Costner because as much as I do like the majority of characters, it seems he was doing heavy lifting at times.

It ended how it should've ended but it still felt a bit hollow. Rubbish final boss battle too.

FWIW it was meant to be another 2 season until TS and KC….
