YESSS!!! fractal define r4 is out!

I think wider midi cases are the future. 140mm fans front and rear and more CPU cooler clearance is what we want... and better cable management

yeah i like the wider cases, good they moved to 140mm as well need more air pushing and more silence why not...

my R2 fractual I can barely fit the cables behind it...

Yeah I know. R2 here too. 2x 140mm fans move same air as 3x 120mm fans

I asked how long before we get the window'd bundle. Here's the response I got:

Hello,

Thank you for your mail. Very soon Define R4 with window side panel will be available in UK and all other European markets.

Thank you.

Best regards
Fractal Design

I need a new case, not quite sure what to settle on. Perhaps, an R3?

The only fans I'd truly call silent that I've actually found so far are the Enermax T.B. Silence range... but then you pay for that with slightly less airflow...

It's on for £84 delivered at a competitors. I was originally holding out for the window'd version but I may just take the plunge.

Anyone interested in a coolermaster wavemaster? :D

Thermalright is releasing a new TY-147 on the HR-02 Macho Same fan as TY-140 with balck housing and white blades.

Probably won't fit but...

passive is massive misspelled
or is it
massive is passive misspelled :D
Any of the top coolers... all are massive coolers... can be passive coolers

Was showing a mate today how my Phanteks was only 2c warmer surfing the web passive vs fans idling at 700rpm. ;)

75%cpu is 58c @ 1000rpm.... 62c passive. (mounted vertical so air moves up)

2x Akasa Venom should be good. Might consider adding a 3rd in bottom and raise case for 50mm clearance... and a 4th back exhaust... and set them up to ramp up with CPU cooler fans.. if all are PWM it's easy to do. :)

Little brother R2 is good with 120mm fans and fixed HDD cage loaded with 7 HDD with 2x Akasa FN053 in front and 1x TY-140 in bottom for intakes. All ramp up with CPU cooler rpm. Back case exhaust is also FN-053. Exhaust temp on back fan is 4-5c above ambient at 100% CPU. CPU cooler exhausts out top. Case is raised on casters with 50mm clearance all around for airflow to bottom fans.

thanks doyle i have an antec 620 cooler for my cpu would this be an issue for this case?. and is there anywhere that sells the little trolley boards for the PC's or would i have to make my own? to get the bottom clearance that is.

and how does the air actually intake with the closed front panel?

I have a sabertooth board with quite a few PWM fan headers so i should be good
