Yet another fail thread... replacement cheapskate car!

Per £ of outlay, still the latter. You can't just grab a car twice as expensive then say 'huh look it bettur'.

We're talking about the technical achievements of each engine? I'm saying that the x30i/x35i is a greater technological achievement because they haven't had to sacrifice anything to gain their achievements. VW have had to put a minute 1.4 engine in to reach their ends. If Bugatti found a way of making their Veyron get 40mpg (or even 4mpg :p) i would say that that is the greater technological achievement.

And it's not like a x30i/x35i is a rare car - it's has a mass produced engine in it, just like the Golf.

Think about it, am I more likely to be referring to my scenarios or everyone else's?

I was talking about the other 30+ million drivers on the road, most of whom use their car on the motorway, A roads and B roads in a mixture of situations, not just B roads for commuting as you say you do.

Because a Clio has a terrible, awful interior. Bah, ninja edit. Regarding the outlay of £17k, you're not considering the resale in this. Why spend £100k on a house when you could get one in a ****hole for £50k?

PS MrLOL, I saw it, thanks :p.

:p i dropped it because i knew you'd dismiss my point by just saying you bought the Golf because of its superior interior over the Clio

The Bugatti Veyron is mass produced. Why not go the whole hog and start going on about its technical achievements when compared to a car 1/100th of its cost? After all they're both VWs!

I praised his car and he ignored me :(

Sorry, still recovering. Although does 'not poo' count as praise?!

lol, i wonder how much longer you can go on delibarately missing the point because of your blind fanboyism.

The Bugatti is a massive technological achievement, but only because of the sheer amount of power that has been extracted from it. Which is totally different to the point i'm trying make, because i'm not talking about pure, unadulterated power. I'm talking about balance.

The 330i is a technological achievement because of the size of the engine and amount of power it has, whilst still maintaining staggering fuel consumption. It strikes a better balance than the Golf TSi engine.* A 1.4 has always been economical, whereas years ago, a 3.0 6cyl engine used to have horrible fuel consumption.

*before you start harping on about your individual needs, i will remind you again that we are talking about technological achievement here.

Oddly if we are talking about his individual needs why does he care at all about fuel consumption if he only uses it for commuting to work 4 miles away?

You surely have to though, at least talk about technological achievements within the same stratosphere of car type?! Otherwise why don't you start talking about electric cars which strike a far better balance of power and economy than your blessed 330i.

Well I don't care about torquey 6 cylinder driving as my car has rapid gear changes, and I don't care about flinging my car around the local McDonalds roundabout as quickly as possible, so what else should I care about? That pretty much only leaves comfort and economy. The seats in my car are very comfortable and whilst the ride isn't barge comfy, I don't use motorways and I bet it's not far off a M-Sport BMW. Meanwhile the interior is pretty good.

*bangs head against brick wall*

BECAUSE AN ELECTRICAL CAR HAS COMPROMISED ITSELF TO ACHIEVE THESE ENDS. A 330I HASN'T.

Yes it has, it costs 40 grand.

*Slits wrists*

I still can't work out if he is being serious or not?

He seems to be sort of a like a quaint troll...

Say something then? You still haven't answered my last post.

I think he's either remarkably "simple", insanely bored or a blind fanboy.

I like to believe i can recognise an great achievement in any car. Whether it be extracting massive amounts of power, extreme weight savings, excellent handling. The 330i has managed the achievement of not compromising anything (and in fact getting more power) whilst also getting almost 40mpg. Robbie can't seem to recognise this achievement.

Does anybody have a nice "Do not feed the troll(s)" picture that I can use? :p

I take it then, that you are unable to respond sensibly re: Nissan's old twin-charged car and are more content simply to resort to troll accusations.

This simply highlights you as 'a bit of a thicky'.

Do me a favour. In order to get 40mpg you'd have to drive it like a 1.4 Golf anyway.

I recognise the quality of the car against its peers, I do not recognise the relevance of your comparison to it with a £17k Golf.

To be honest I didn't see where the discussion was going. 'No' Twincharging is not a new idea and 'Yes', it is what makes the TSI units vaguely interesting. I'm not sure how we're going to get any sort of debate going on that.

Please try to remember that I spend 8 hours a day breathing in exhaust fumes ;)

180 Yes

Head Gasket gone again - oh noooooooooooooo

Head gasket on this? Either learn to read my reply, a few pages ago, or learn about what you're talking about before spouting rubbish.

This doesn't have the made of cheese K series, it's the much tougher T series lump.

Have a nice day, and go and read a book on something useful before you come back talking crap.
