Yobs make me sick.

i just think it could have been prevented, having tighter laws on fireworks and explosives. just a thought.

It doesn't really, there are very strict laws here on fireworks, you can only use them from (iirc) 11am on the 31st of Dec and up to 10 am on 1 Jan. They can only be bought 5 days before newyear so from 26 Dec and the rest of the year it's illegal to sell fireworks...

Doesn't change the fact that kids keep doing stupid stuff through the year with it, you can still hear the well known bang sometimes once a week or so here and this is actually a quiet neighborhood...

I understand your view but if some cruel scumbag is determined to inujure an animal then they will regardless of the law

If it was anything like around our area then the "kids" will get protected by the courts / papers cos they are too young to have the **** kicked out of them by the rest of the city.

Round here they (not fireworks related) they broke into the zoo, shot lots of animals with air guns, gouged some animals eyes out, upset animals so much they started killing / eating each other / their babes. Unfortunately they never managed to get into the bear cage despite there attempts, but that is exactly when i would have locked them in after! - After all this they were never named (even after a city petition to have them named and shamed - read killed) and I think it was the parents who got in trouble for not giving them enough to do and no doubt not claiming enough benefits....rant rant rant over.

Neds hate them!

I think that is a really dumb knee jerk reaction. The laws are fine. You will always get people like this. They need to be caught and prosecuted. The law though is fine.

I guess so.. it makes me so mad idiots can actually do this. heat of the moment comment i guess. but i wonder where they got them from? surely they werent old enough to buy them

I agree with national service, especially after watching Bad Lad's Army. A lot of the blokes who went through that were completely changed men afterwards. If anything can make a significant contribution to general attitudes in society, it's being in the army and learning the values of dignity and respect for one another.

The Greeks have this, and their yob problem is not as heavy as ours.

Something needs to be done, whether teachers giving chavs a good whacking for being yobs in school, or national service, or even both.

Problem is now, the slobs from the days when giving kids a smack round the head in schools was banned are now parents.
So we have 2nd gen chavs now:(

The queen can still have them executed too if she wishes.
