Yobs make me sick.

really? for killing a swan you can be executed even this day and age?

You can't be executed.

The Queen can do anything, she can get rid of Parliament, sack the PM, remove the government, pardon prisoners etc. But she obviously doesn't use those powers but it doesn't mean they aren't there.

Yep. It was on halloween night and there was a fancy fair nearby that attracted all the yobs. Some people vaguely saw who they were as they ran away, but it was too busy. Police took a statement though. Only my dad was at home, fortunately he only got a fright as there's another door between the letterbox and the lounge.

Good job you were in, you could have returned to a burnt out shell. Wonder what goes through their minds when they do this stuff?

Just let someone find them and beat them to death in the dead of night.

Swift justice with only their parents to blame for not raising better children.

I was at college on Wednesday and some college kids 16-17 where throwing fireworks at ducks in the pond near the college at dinner time.

They have nothing else to do in there sad pathetic lives.

I agree with national service, especially after watching Bad Lad's Army. A lot of the blokes who went through that were completely changed men afterwards.
Nationial service would probably be a good thing but I wouldn't base any thinking on stuff like that - it's cheap pantomime TV!

its the person that should be controlled, not make laws to control the method he used.

completely mindless and knee jerk reaction.

i suppose if a hammer was used you would cry for tighter laws on the sale of hammers?

your missing the complete picture, completely .

i even disagree with tighter laws on knifes, what's that going to do,?

it doesn't change the person who would use a knife to harm people, its just a method.

i said in a previous post, that my original post comments was due to the article making me a bit mad and type things before thinking. I apologise, i still think they should get prison for this.

I think it stems from changes in the education system and also because we're becoming a lazier society. Children just aren't taught to think for themselves any more or take responsibility for their actions.

As for punishment, boot camps. I also think the key to making them work is a system where you can only complete your sentence if you do as your told. Not time off for good behaviour, but if you're given a 28 day sentence you must behave satisfactorily on every one of those 28 days. Mess up one day, you stay in boot camp a day longer, the only way out is compliance.

its aright, my post was directed really to that type of mindset , and i get mad to at the complete incompetence of who we elect to solve problems like this.

the country is run by total morons

The law's there for it. Damage with fireworks is classed as arson, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. Of course it'd never happen, but the potential is there for whatever sentence is deemed necessary.

Just ban fireworks, there's tons of free licensed displays to go to or alternatively limit the shops who can sell them to ones who don't employ teenagers or under 25s and set the age limit for purchasing to 25+

In other words, stop selling them in Asda!!
