Yodel Delivery Service - OMG!

Well I was meant to be receiving a copy of BlackOps 2 today and after waiting in
all day and constantly checking the tracking status it just said out or delivery.
10pm tonight I decided to come upstairs and check my e-mail and stuff like that
as I was fed up to the back teeth of watching TV, checking the status again at
22:05 and this is what I was greeted with.

Returned to local service centre Loughborough service centre 20th Nov 2012 22:54
Delivery attempted, unable to gain access Loughborough service centre 20th Nov 2012 22:01
Parcel out for delivery Loughborough service centre 20th Nov 2012 07:06
Parcel received at local service centre Loughborough service centre 19th Nov 2012 23:22
Despatched from service centre Wednesbury hub 19th Nov 2012 16:41
Parcel received at local service centre Wednesbury hub 19th Nov 2012 16:39

Which is total **** my bedroom is right above the door and no one rang the
door bell of even knocked on the door, and there is not even a card been put
through the door or anything.
I love the part that says "Delivery attempted, unable to gain access" is it that
hard to walk through a gate and knock on the door.

I will be ringing them tomorrow and if its not with me in the morning then I will
be making a formal complain.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

I've never had a problem with them in my area, they always turn up when they say they will and the guy even came back in the evening after no one was in in the morning to accept a delivery without being asked to which was great meant I got my Nexus 7 without having to hang around the next day.

 shouldn't have cheaped out on delivery with my amazon black friday stuff, Yodel are in charge and according to the tracking website its been out for delivery since saturday.

Nothing wrong with it taking a while, everything wrong with "loaded into the van 9am saturday" which means its been sitting in the back of someones car since saturday till the can be bothered to drive 10 miles from Borehamwood to here.

At least cheap postage is usually royal mail who don't drop too many things.

Funnily enough I had something sent from the Amazon sales a few days ago, sent via HDNL (Yodel).

Checked the tracking this morning, and it was apparently delivered yesterday. Which it wasn't.

Showed out for delivery in morning, delivered in the afternoon, back at depot at 9pm that night. What? So, tried the other tracking/redelivery option... shows as delivered (ie. doesn't show the "back at the depot" part of the breakdown), but the green circles haven't filled up to "Delivered".

Arrived just before lunch time today, though.

Yodel messed up the delivery on a couple of my Amazon black Friday Purchases. Was set for next day delivery. Come delivery day, I was checking tracking when it had "Left in front porch".. My office has no such place, and I checked downstairs, and no package. Found depot number, eventually got though, to be told package is actually back at depot. Yodel and HDNL sites showed different tracking details. Package was eventually delivered the follow day.

Played to my advantage in some way, as I changed my mind on one item, so played the "not delivered in time" card, which meant Amazon paid for the return costs (with Yodel, but they did pick up on time)

My experience of yodel was overwhelmingly awful.

I live in a new build flat that rather than get a new number on the street has been given a letter suffix. Add to that it's not directly on the street, in all a real pain in the butt to find.

However, yodel are awful. Delivery attempt 1 failed due to unknown location. I could understand that. I phoned, give precise instructions and was promised next day delivery. The next day, no delivery and tracking showed address query. I phoned back, explained where the address was, gave my number for them to call and was promised next day delivery. A week later and the same status on their website every time. Phoned back and was told the parcel had never left the depot and it would be quicker to come and collect it myself.

Yodel are a nightmare, supposed to pick up parcel yesterday, and today, chased up both days... not gone through properly.

Yodel are crap - DO NOT USE THEM!

Had to reorganise delivery via TNT, for collection tomorrow.

Before I commit myself to use Yodel again come January, all has been ok thus far.

I was thinking of giving TNT a go?

Who ranks worst and why?

And I get home tonight to find my books neatly packaged in cardboard left under a bush in the garden whilst it has been raining all day ... cheers muppets.

Yodel are horrendous, my Parcel sat in their Fareham depot for over a week before they decided to deliver it, yet it came from up north to Fareham in a day, useless idiots!

I bought a camera tripod recently, and they left it in the front in the rain.

It's a good job it was double boxed and hidden because things have been taken from the front multiple times before.

Another Yodel issue here. Think that's 3 out of 4 now that i have had an issue with, the only successful one I've had was to the work office from amazon and that was probably because there was a few to drop off.

Apparently my delivery yesterday was successful, or so they 'assume'. No sign of the parcel and no card. Was in all day and despite the delivery being completed at 10.53, it wasn't showing online until gone 6pm as I checked during the day.

Delivery window is ridiculous too, can be between 7am and 9pm on a Saturday yet the phones close at 1pm!!! :o

As a person who works in a delivery service, one massive piece of advice. If your house/flat is even remotely difficult to locate, write out the delivery instructions on the website or on the parcel your sending, like between roads x and y, blue door etc.

Nothing is more infuriating to a delivery man than a housename in nowheresville where the postcode is a road a mile long on a national speed limit road. Never assume that someone will find it, especially when it's dark.
