As a person who works in a delivery service, one massive piece of advice. If your house/flat is even remotely difficult to locate, write out the delivery instructions on the website or on the parcel your sending, like between roads x and y, blue door etc.
Nothing is more infuriating to a delivery man than a housename in nowheresville where the postcode is a road a mile long on a national speed limit road. Never assume that someone will find it, especially when it's dark.

This is why I prefer Royal Mail Parcels.
#1 They know where I live (So no carding of wrong address, a frequent issue with indies reliant on sat-nav. SAT-Nav doesn't work well for my address)
#2 If I am carded I simply request redelivery to my local PO. In the Village Shop over the road! (Intelligent retailers will instruct an automatic default to the local PO Strauss work-wear does this. Most impressed) rather than having to collect froma depot 30 miles away!
I know many retailers have "Deals" with the independent couriers but I prefer those that give RM Parcels as an option. Internet shopping without it is almost impossible for me!
LOL.*sigh*
me- "why wasnt it delivered yesterday?"
yodel - "he had access problems"
me - "its just a door, he didnt even put anything through to say he had visited"
yodel - "well ive checked on google maps and it looks fine. well it'll get delivered monday as ive just phoned the depot and the delivery drivers have all gone out today but none of them have your parcel with them"
me - "why have your drivers gone out and not taken an undelivered parcel with them?"
yodel - "dont know?"
me -"you deliver till 9pm right? so can it be put on a later delivery driver?"
yodel - "no they dont do that"
me - "why not?"
yodel - "dunno"

@YodelOnline Suprised your delivery driver decided to throw the package on the roof? Any reason why?
