Yorkfields are nearly here! Q9300, Q9450 & Q9550 :)

Jedi i know its hard, but do you have an estimate for the stock if i pre-order?

I dont think i could wait 6 weeks+ to get one.

(Q9450 That is.)

Would that recommendation have anything to do with the price they are at? ;)

Hehe I wish the P45's were out believe me :(

Looks like the x38's will do it with insane voltage and water if ya fancy it :D

I think I'll be getting at least a single-loop for my Asus Maximus Formula SE with a Q9450, will probably go for a dual-one for the CPU too esp when it starts to get toasty soon

Hang on, I thought the price of these chips were meant to be roughly the same as the ones they replaced. Is this just retailers taking advantage of high demand?

I'd be very interested to see the Intel RRP of these chips compared to the outgoing Q6600 models.

Nope

Not the RRP but here are some prices...

Aye I just found that too, $316 in todays currency is £163... or the same price as the current outgoing Q6600

Clearly it never works that way as UK prices are always higher, but £230 is a LOT more.

I'd like a Q9450 but I think I'll wait until the stock arrives for more reasonable prices. It's a bit like the 8800GT's, they started cheap and then demand allowed the retailers to push up the prices. Given a little time they are dropping again.

I am tempted to get one of these since i am getting no end of grief with my Q6600. Would prefer to go for the 9550 but will need to wait for the price to come down considerably.

Damn, just too tempting to resist.

Can't quite see the point in paying the extra for the 9550 when you'll need a benchmarking program to notice the difference.

Hmmm, I was going to get a Q9450 but I think I'll wait for a cheaper and higher multiplier in the Intel revision later on this year. Or buy a second hand Q6600.

So out of interest, all those who bought Wolfdales, are you going to trade in? :)

Initially I thought no, but looking at the new price for the E8400s, it just might be worth selling the E8400 now as I should be able to do the upgrade to a Q9450 for less than I thought:D
