But the more graphics card utilisation the more CPU utilisation in crysis,well thats my understanding of it nehu, so if your using lower resolutions wouldnt that limit how usefull the CPU (and CPU differences) were?

Its the other way round, if the resolution is low the graphics card can handle whatever the cpu throws at it and the fps will be higher with a more powerful cpu.

If you ran the benchmark with a resolution of 2560x1600 16AF 8AA, depending on the game, you would more than likely see the same fps from both cpu's as the graphics card is at its limit.

Crysis for instance is very graphics card limited game with todays tech, so a 2.6Ghz cpu and a 4ghz cpu with the same graphics card dont make much difference.

crysis isn't very graphics card limited, its the same as 99.99999% of games, a wolfdale/yorkdale will show nothing noticable in gaming difference to any chip you can get now. a wolfdale is completely pointless compared to a plain old conroe also, once you get past 2.4Ghz most games don't show a difference, on the odd game that does you go up to 3Ghz and theres maybe at that point 1 game that will make a difference beyond that. these are speeds that pretty much any dual core chip can do with ease.

gaming = gpu + ANY £50 chip.

Crysis isnt graphics card limited ? Thats news to me, what is holding it back then the cpu :confused:
