You are having...

Audi - Why did you make a sports model of the car and then decide not to bother putting the bodykit on till 2003? Instead we get some gray coloured tat.

BMW - why didnt you get more power out of the engine :D

gf's Audi A3 - why does the front look as if its a fish's mouth?

*S

Skyline GTR

Did you guys have a private giggle about the 280 bhp limt when making this? Knowing full well £1000 makes it 380, and most end up 450-500.

If they admit to this then ' If you kneew about the power, why did you put a standard clutch that would slip if you farted hard!!!'

Admittedly they'd probably point out you had a twin or triple plate in your car, so why did you care!

Honda Civic 1.8 VTi

Why did you fit a gearbox with such a stupid 2nd gear?

Why not just fit the box you already had from the ITR?

Various hardcore emissions regulations stopped that :) as far as I was aware. And any impending lawsuits from making something 'dangerous' probably too, these days :D

GT6C

So, exactly why didn't you build a 2.0 Spitfire?

And what's with those hooooge rocker switches when toggles look so much better?

Stag

How do you mean "what's rustproofing"?

Why my car has to have the crippled gear ratios that none of the other Civic's or Integras seem to have?

Why do the standard headlights have to be so awful?

Why not put vented discs as standard?

Otherwise I actually quite like my car. I'm under no illusions its quite rapid but its not a sports car so thats fine by me because it doesn't try to be.

Unfortunately our car was crippled with the gearbox of satan because Honda didn't want it to wipe the floor with the B16 vti's (which it does completely wiith the teg box) due to the fact that the MB6 was a europe only model and furthermore they wanted to widen the gap between the integra and the MB6. Straight line wise there isn't a great performance difference between the MB6 (with a teg box) and the ITR DC2, in fact a few people have said they've been ahead of an ITR (with a teg box) for the first half of a 1/4 mile before the ITR came through and beat them top end. I might add that adding any sort of curves to the track would have the ITR crapping on the MB6.

However, I agree with what you are saying.

The Headlights are awful which is why I went down the HID road.

I thought the MB6 vti's all had front vented discs TheBrasso? Mine does and i'm pretty sure Skywalker's did too. Perhaps it was a later on change.

I don't think you guys are local but if we ever meet at a meet - you are more than welcome to try out the teg box on mine. The difference is ridiculous.

Other things i'd highlight are - Sack the interior designer if you haven't done already.

Some better dash lights would have been nice.

Suspension is a bit soft for what the car is.

Thanks for putting the oil filter in the most ridiculous place known to man.

Thanks for bastardising my car by loaning the chassis to Rover.

Lumbar support please.

and probably the biggest one:

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RWD!!!!

Otherwise thanks for a reliable, fun, frugal-ish car that brings a smile to my face everytime I drive and everytime that needle bumps off 8500rpm :D

I know that's the reason, that doesn't stop me wanting to slap the person who made the decision with a trout... :D

I also agree about the standard suspension, the difference when I hade mine changed was definitely noticable.

Just realised I ought to thank them for ignoring practicality and the fact I can't get shopping for two people in the boot and going with rear wheel drive anyway.

And making the transmission tunnel bigger than it needed to be and using up all my leg room, but leaving room for swapping a bigger gearbox in.

I'd then point out the huge empty space under the rear seats and ask why they didn't put the petrol tank or maybe even spare wheel in there...

Oh, sorry, I only said because you posted it like you were asking a question :)

What suspension setup have you got? Koni and Eibach's?

Do you genuinelly beleive that they 'decided' to go with RWD in the Chevvette?

Surely you don't think they sat down, designed the car and said Yup, we'll make it RWD, people like that?

It's RWD purely becuase around the time it was designed, everything was RWD. It's just the way it was. FWD was only starting to take off, and most manufacturers expertise and experience was in RWD.

Honestly the way you said that makes it sound like it's some sort of sports car that they sacrificied practality with for ultimate driver enjoyment, rather than a cheap, low end Vauxhall shopping car from 25 years ago :p

So we've got one guy on here who thinks his Chevette 1.2 sounds like a V8 and another who thinks it was designed for driver involvement, blimey is there asbestos in them or something :p

On the whole RWD thing - people automatically think RWD = no understeer.

When you're not on the gas - they will understeer like everything else. And some still understeer when you ARE on the gas, especially the ones with no power.

Obviously this doesn't apply to proper RWD Sport Saloons like the Vauxhall Chevette.

Becuase we know from OcUK that any RWD car is automatically super cool, uber, and amazing to drive. It's quite a miracle really that some cars which were apparently really poor when brand new are suddenly awesome 20 years later, simply becuase of the drivetrain layout :D
