Because if you do, how the hell do you do it? (excluding those of you here that have servants etc..).

GF's dad rekons when you have a kid you just give up cleaning because it's always a nightmare, and to be honest I find a constant list of cleaning, the house seems to never be clean, it's like living in a hotel where I'm hospitality.

So yes, what do you lot do?

My house is definitely not perfectly clean (kind of impossible with a dog!), but I try and keep on top of it.... Vacuum once a week upstairs normally, but two or three times downstairs or everything gets covered in dog hair. Mop the kitchen quickly once a week maybe.

Kitchen counters wiped down every day. Dishwasher goes on once a day, sometimes stuff for hand washing up gets left for a few days though if there's not very much...

Bathroom when it starts to look scummy... Maybe a proper clean every 2/3 weeks?

I don't have kids though :p. Have friends with that have kids and seem to keep it looking relatively clean though, so must be doable! Getting them to tidy their own toys etc away must make a big difference I imagine.

I reckon pets are worse than kids. The cat is always on the bed turfing out god knows what and the dog is walking all the mud in from the garden, gets to a point where I only have a really good clean if people coming over.

I didn't find kids make your house any dirtier, messier maybe.....
My children are 10 & 12 now, and they help to keep the house clean and tidy. The house gets vacuumed once a week and my kids do their own rooms.

Sanitary but not always tidy! It's also a constant battle between the Dyson and Dog hair, out two cockers have an an unfeasibly large amount of cast hair for all the size of them.

I have 3 of the ******* and they're only here 50% of the time and it's still a pain in the ass! I spent the whole day today fully cleaning the place top to bottom. They are worse as well as they get older. Teen boys are useless at helping in any meaningful way. Anything they do needs redoing. They ruin every toilet space possible. They don't see dirt, mess or anything remotely in front of them.

Once upon a time, now there is food and toys and piles of clothes everywhere, for as far as the eye can see.

We tidy when the little terror is asleep, well put stuff away she's flung around and clean her food mess up but by 8am it's back as was.

Simple you have too much junk about.

The living room has only a sofa, coffee table, tv and Xbox, that is all we have, we can count 11 items including those just listed in the living room.

Would I trade it for anything? Nope. As hard as being a parent is, and it can be ******* hard, it's one of the most rewarding things ever, too. I do anything to pick up my 8yr old daughter from school, even if it's not my week just to see her face as she runs to me.

I don't have kids, but my space is always a mess, the wife goes crazy, but life's too short to be running a show house. I go to a friend's house, it makes Bedlam look tidy. They call it the "shabby chic" look. (Mucky and untidy to friends...). I approve :)
