You lot with kids, do you have a perfect clean house?

Completely agree. It's good to instill that responsibility young. They can make a mess as long as they tidy up.

It does work but then goes completely backwards when they become a teenager. My daughter was the cleanest child there is but her bedroom is just pure filth. She managed to get mould in the top corner of her ceiling because she was constantly keeping her hot coffee on a shelf in that area.

Only repainted it last summer because the son drew all over it.

I am the stay at home dad. 3 boys, 1 puppy, 2 cats, 1 rabbit and one wife. I spend most of my time cleaning and tidying up after the wife. True story, a genuinely true story, she is a messy ******.

Once you've got kids you just have to redefine what tidy means.

Trying to get everything pristine is an impossible task. Best you can do is just to maintain some level of balance so you're not stepping on lego every 5 minutes.

Hell no. I have a 9-year-old and a dog. My wife and I both work full time and so the place only gets cleaned maybe every other Saturday. You can imaging what my floors look like at this time of year with the dog needing a muddy walk 3 time a day.
I think the only way to have a clean and tidy house at the same time as having kids is if one of the parents doesn't work, or you have a nanny / regular cleaner.
