You never think you will ever get old !!!

As you get older time certainly seems to go quicker. I'll be 60 in 2025 and it'll be a wtf moment.
I've got into a fitness kick lately to try and slow down the inevitable decline.

Ok here goes, I have just hit 60, physically I am doing 2 to 4 hours a day moderate to hard walking no joint issues, surfing when CBA
Mentally it's hit me pretty negatively , and the days fly by at lightning speed, feel I am on a conveyor belt to oblivion.
Personal circumstances means I need my drawdown for ot house stuff so even though haven't worked since October will have to (well not have to exactly) find some part time work .
50 is a good retirement age if you can do it or as early as possible

Your almost old enough to run for the US presidency
Naa to intelligent.

My hair has always been a mess - The only style I could get it to say was my Ringo style. Hair grows ever which way - When i retired I went to a hairdresser and said give me a no1- best thing I ever did - I do it no2 now because of a few bald patches.

I did a few jobs in Shrewsbury Prison and each time this one bloke shouted out - Hi Ringo and I shouted back "You still here"
Been out today and my baseball cap just fell over my ears. Blimey it was cold.

Had a laugh reading through the thread and can relate to all comments. Best I can do is what I said to the wife (I'm 64, she's 62) we are the older generation now but she won't admit it. Parents have all passed, just an auntie on my side. Now it's the older cousins that are going, one we've just been told about, I don't think about what's to come.

I've just reached 60. Started going back to the gym a year ago after a 10 year hiatus. I can lift more than I could 30 years ago. However, I have to listen to my body as my joints object! So stopped chasing numbers! I cycle weekly and eat a "reasonable" diet

However, as positive as the above sounds I probably drink more than I should.

As per OP though. Age does feel as if its very slowly creeping up on me and my wife. We were discussing this the other day and then as she said WHAM its suddenly upon you. Mentally I still feel as sharp.

Talking to my grandchildren they think 40 is old and therefore I must be ancient! I do recall feeling something similar in my teenage years too.

We have just returned from a week in the sun and the hotel was full of so many age 70 plus, people. We spent a great week looking at the signs of ageing others show and it was scary to think that if we are luck to live long enough that will be us in a few years. Watch out for the walking waddle as my wife called it!

I can only imagine the amount of ear hair in this thread! :D

I'm 46, my best school mates Mum died recently, my Mum had a stroke last year. They're suddenly "old". They're the age my Grandparents were when i was a kid! it's crazy how time flies

My wife always goes on about when I'm going to trim the eyebrows, as they look like caterpillars (only small ones)the ear hair, beard and hair. I only trim when I feel like it as I know it annoys the hell out of her
Beginning to look like Grizzly Adams or a hobo

It was like a switch flicked in my head when I turned 58, and I suddenly felt old. Bit weird really, felt fine at 57! Probably because quite a few of my friends have started popping off...
Just coming up to two year since I took early retirement, and that's flown by. I do think exercise and a decent diet plays an even more important role as you get older though.
Luckily I don't need to drawdown for a good while yet, which is probably a good thing as I now want a Porsche! I suspect I won't be able to get in it by the time I'm ready though. :p

Yes i was wanting one of the old air cooled 911s ,but as a Ford apprentice back in the day i used to drive the odd 2,8i capri, seat covers off, pretend it was mine, Human league pumped up. keep finding myself looking at those

My daughter hits 21 this year! kids are always a real marker for feeling old! 20 years since my dad passed away and nearly 10 since my mother passed. I felt time sped up when both my parents had gone, I'm 54 now and whenever anyone asks how I am I usually answer "less teeth, bigger belly and a few more aches and pains"

The wife being diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 23 feels like it's aged me 10 years too

I do remember thinking i'll never hit 30 let alone 40 then 50 as i was a bit of a wild one in my youth
