YouFibre

It's probably going to be awhile unfortunately. Netomnia said in October 2022 that Livingston was rolling out. How long did that take for availability?

They said to me yesterday:

"I have looked at your postcode and at this time the works in this direct location are on indefinite hold. The pre-existing services that our team were hoping to utilise are not suitable to be used.
We often look to deploy and use a build method known as Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA). Physical infrastructure access solution is an Openreach product which allows communication providers access to poles and duct for their own installation. Communications providers could utilise this infrastructure to deploy their own fibre networks. Upon inspection, we realised that this was not viable for us to complete a roll out in this direct location.

I can see that the whole the area is required a re-plan/redesign of the network build, your address included.
Over the coming months, our design team will work on this to determine if a viable method and route can be found to complete the connections."

So probably December 2024... maybe.
I'm not actually sure how long it took Netomnia to install the network in Livingston. The work is still going on.
I didn't actually know what was going on until I got a YouFibre leaflet through my door and looked into them, that's when I noticed Netomnia vans more often around the local area.

It certainly sounds like it won't be happening for you anytime soon unfortunately, if they can't use the existing Openreach ducts:(

I got the £19.99 a month youfibre 150. I'm testing on a mobile atm, via the arrias router, and I am getting 17ms ping with talk talk copper wire. The signal comes from a telephone pole about 30m away in the street.

I'm using the speedtest.net app on my phone. I will see if I can use a laptop instead to run command prompt queries.

Edit: Using a laptop (wireless) my ping is fine. It must be something about my mobile and the router that doesn't play well.

My Mobile (browsing, App use etc) was not 100% happy with my YouFibre connection until I completely disabled IPv6 at the router. Ever since doing that, everything has just been happier.
I'd go to open an app on my mobile, pause before opening etc. Once IPv6 was disabled, everything instantly opens as I'd expect it to.

I had issues like this but contacted support. They did something and said see how that goes over the next 24 hours and everything has been fine since.

YouFibre put a leaflet through the door at my old house in 2021 saying they were installing their network there in the December.

Still not connected there!

Still waiting in South Preston for netomnia/you fibre to restart roll out after the last company doing the subcontracted work went into administration, could be a long wait for me too. :(

Same here in Horwich.

Gutted, I've had to bite the bullet and go with talktalk as my vm contract was extortionate for no gain. Hope to get youfibre sooner rather than later, the big thing is their upload speeds obviously with the good download speeds and even higher speeds available over the likes of vm.

Fingers crossed something gets sorted soon for both of us

Sorry you guys are still waiting on YouFibre building out their network locally in your areas, especially if it's down to subcontracted companies going into administration:(

I'm quite fortunate that I was able to order Openreach FTTP before the end of my VM contract, but have been promised by YouFibre for a couple of years now that their network would be installed. I'm on 330/50 and it's perfectly fine to be honest and if I'm downloading something large it just takes a little longer. I only tend to play COD so it's just the initial download and any large updates. Wouldn't mind my contract being a little cheaper, too, which YouFibre's current offerings are.

The next small town to us, Adlington, has YouFibre installed including the 8Gig package, Openreach FTTP available, and Nexfibre are currently installing VM fibre network too. Would love to have that choice!

Shame you fibre/netomnia don't have the clout to push some of these builds quicker, or at least buy into a contractor having a % stake shareholder. Probably would help.
