YouFibre

Had to delay my moving over to them - some life stuff got in the way, but at last placed my order for the 1000Mbps - due for install on 12/09
Over the initial 2yrs, the 1000 works out cheaper than their 500, so a no brainer really. Haven't gone for any options - we've decided to do away with having a landline, so that will be cancelled with our Vodafone Broadband contract. I use Ubiquity WiFi devices, so don't need the Mesh etc.
Haven't added Static IP - not planning on running anything from the connection at the moment, but can always add that at a later date.
Looking forward to it.

Been waiting for youfibre since March this year, keeps getting pushed back was told in July would be end of August but nothing in sight.
Have been going on to their webpage for showing interest, just keeps saying we are going to connect your street soon. Sick of VM's extortionate costs, but paying out of contract until youfibre sort their stuff out.

Anyone else been waiting for what seems an age, like more than 6 months?

They announced my area in October 21. Still no signs of the build even starting. Everytime I email them it's "still in build planning stage".

Still no closer to coming to me. I don't even see any build works showing as planned even within half a mile of me. Looks like my hope of having it available by the end of the year may not come to fruition.

Ours was radio silence for about 6 months until they one day just said "Hey, it's active" to one of the neighbours.

Friends have had similar experiences, with similar timeframes.

Seems like their advertisement team are 6 months ahead of their infrastructure team.

Ouch, that's pants and I thought I was hard done by.

Really not sure what to do myself, thinking worse case scenario to go on talktalk as they're cheaper than sticking out of contract with VM. Emailed again last last night thinking I may have had a reply today, but guess that I may get a reply next week still saying same as you guys. Probably end of September or even October next.

I messaged them today and they said it is known for them to reverse network rollouts due to unforseen obstacles, hope that hasn’t happened to me :/

Getting to the stage now where I think I should give up, others on forums also saying similar that it's months down the line and nothing. :(

In that YouTube video their CEO did last week, he said it's sort of a cardinal sin for altnets to overbuild each other. So if someone else starts rolling out before Netomnia/you commence, probably safe to assume they will pull the pin.

Keep an eye on http://bidb.uk to track companies roll out plans and http://one.network to track actual roadworks from those companies.

They seem to do a couple of streets then move onto a new area to just do a couple of streets.
Extremely odd I'd say, surely no business logic there. Unless it's a ploy to say they're covering certain area's with a message to the public, "we're building new broadband fibre" just to get interest but maybe me being cynical lol.

Or they just move on once any problem is encountered. Irrespective of its size

They use open reach ducts if they are blocked they have to log the issue and wait for open reach to fix, I expect open reach will fixed these blocks when they get round to rolling there own fibre.

If a PIA provider finds a blocked duct they clear it themselves and supply evidence to Openreach that the job has been completed, Openreach then pay them for the repair

I'm just within the Greater Manchester area over the Lancashire border from you, and we had the main cables laid earlier this year originally saying the build would be complete in '23. Openreach has since installed FTTP (started after Netomnia laid their first cable and completed the area), and perhaps removed all the blockages in the ducts for Netomnia whist doing it? I got in contact with Netomnia and was told their design and build would now be complete by the end of next year. I'm happy to get by on Openreach for the time being having jumped from VM. I know others aren't in the same position.

I finally snapped and wrote a snooty letter to the Openreach CEO Clive Selley asking why my Exchange wasn't even in a build plan, never mind planned for 2024 or 2025. I'm not rural, I live in a Scottish new Town with a population of around 70,000 people. My Exchange probably serves around half of that as it's very central in the town. I got a response from executive complaints who say they will do some investigations.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting on Youfibre coming ever closer but at the rate I see them and the lack of any roadworks or Permits for them anywhere close to me I suspect it's not happening this year. Seems I'll be stuck on 80/20 for a while longer as I really don't want to go to Virgin as I'm sure performance will be terrible for ping and latency.

With my current Sky contract due for renewal this month I've been shopping around and remember these putting a flyer through my door a few months back when they were on site presumably laying their infrastructure.

Looking at their price vs package they look very tempting indeed. Looks like I can get 1000mb for cheaper than I'm paying Sky for 500. Interestingly doing a postcode search they have entire street house numbers but not us. Can't imagine there being an issue though but does mean I can't get an up to date speed estimate and price without putting someone else's house number in.
