Orange means the WAN is connected at 2.5Gb.Mine flashes orange
This, always thisYou can just put in any junk data
I absolutely don't need it but cant say no for £50/month![]()
took about 5 mins, refreshingly quick for YF, I was ready with backup internet and everything

not sure why upload is always so bad on handhelds.
love it, i'm at 2.5G NICs, i need to upgrade 1 end device to 10G .. then life will be completeA number of time I said to my self I don't need it but in the end I thought why not, it was still cheaper than my old GigFibre rate from VM when they would no longer discount me.
YF just switched it on, zero pain, apart from the bill of coursetook about 5 mins, refreshingly quick for YF, I was ready with backup internet and everything
Download seems solid, upload a little more bursty

Needs some power to use that speed downloading on Steam, CPU gets hammered but 100Gb down pretty quickly

And that's great. It's important to buy for the use-case, imho. Not only does it make more sense, but it's cheaper on equipment as well as the package itself. My sister recently asked me about the 1 gig 'deal' VM were hounding her about, but I told her not to spend a penny more than the (100 Mbps?) package she already had. Those 8000 package speeds are mental. We finally got ours installed a week ago and going from speeds around 100-200 in different places to symmetrical gigabit is way beyond any needs we have. The supplied WiFi 7 router gives me coverage that extends a decent way down the street.
She understood in the end. And that's great. It's important to buy for the use-case, imho. Not only does it make more sense, but it's cheaper on equipment as well as the package itself. She said they told her she'd go faster. I asked her "Faster at what?". She listed off the usual suspects — Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube on her phone... Yeah, no. I mean you want some overhead for TCP ramp-up and initial burst/buffer-fill, but 100Mbps is ample for that. WTF would she do with a gigabit pipe over WiFi to her phone (she has no PC/laptop)?She understood in the end.
My homelab on the other hand? What do you mean, they still *ONLY* do 8Gbps? LOL...

I've considered a cheap Openreach package as failover, as we have the fibre and ONT already. Ultimately, YouFibre's been so reliable I haven't bothered getting around to it (yet?). My uptime is at 99.99% for the last 365 days, and I only dropped that far because that particular monitor's on a local Proxmox box rather than off-prem (Alpine LXC ftw). One thing I really dislike about Proxmox/Debian in general is that it's (ironically) rather fast-moving for my taste. My *EL boxes are set to security updates only, and only need rebooting for a 20 seconds a few times a year.Always need more for a home lab. Second connection viable?![]()
Damn, I can't wait until mine is fixed! Customer service leaves a lot to be desired but apparently it's an ONT config issueA number of time I said to my self I don't need it but in the end I thought why not, it was still cheaper than my old GigFibre rate from VM when they would no longer discount me.
