Your Backup codes - Important

^^ this is why I never grab firstname.secondname I used to but then realised people will spam it a lot more so I deleted it and got a different one.
I learned this the hard way, except to the extreme. I signed up on the first day that BT Internet went live and my original email address was simply [email protected]. Can you imagine how much rubbish I used to get.

I've just had to change about 80 accounts email/login manually as I used my Zen ISP address for everything. oops! All done though just took a while.

Unfortunately I've fallen foul to not saving my 2FA backup codes for this forum :( I use Authy now to manage my 2FA codes for various services as well as saving the backup codes in my 1Password account. Hopefully I can get my original oc account restored!

Yeah, they are not cheap. There's also a real lack of support from sites. It's only large sites that support them and even then some large sites don't. Eg Microsoft. Oddly enough it's a xenforo feature so these Overclockers forums support hardware keys.

My concern is loosing the only one thing to allow me access. Is there a backup solution with these "keys"?

Yeah. For the most part you're told to get a second key. The alternative is to use use OTP or backup codes. Obviously backup codes and OTP are software so these lessen your overall security when owning a physical hardware key.

Majority of sites force you to have OTP or codes as a backup method. These forums require backup codes for example.

Then you need to load the key all over again if it's lost. Hell nah.

And as if by magic, I'm back!
