Your bad driving encounters

since it was reported on bbc today
?
To investigate further, the researchers offered the rats a choice: they could either take a short, direct path on foot to obtain the treat or drive the car on a longer route, delaying their reward. Surprisingly, two out of the three rats chose to drive, suggesting they derived pleasure from both the journey and the destination.

Couple from this morning. A Jaguar XF guy had not removed snow from the rear windshield, but that is ok since it's a Jaaaggg. He can drive with snow on the front windshield too.

A Lexus CT200h keeping on the 3rd lane on M60 when they should have overtook the traffic in middle lane. Just do your overtake and get back, but nope. Gave a flash as he was slow. Guy moves over, I do my overtake and get back in the middle. As soon as I do this he is back in the 3rd Lane. Why??

3rd was a daydreamer lady in an old Yaris. Didn't get going at Green lights where it was clear. Then unsure about lanes so stayed middle of two lanes. Managed to somehow get ahead only for her to do a non indicated right turn out of nowhere behind me.

One for me this morning, heading home from work, on a roundabout and in a lane that splits into 2, right lane for M1, left for town centre. As it's splits there's painted crosshatching separating the two (recent remodelling of the RA) At the split the car in front keeps right for M1 as I keep left for the TC. Next second across the cross hatching come the car that went M1 lane, about a foot off my front bumper

I drive a heavily lane controlled roundabout daily - 4x single lane exits but entrances have 2 or 3 lanes. So generally you always know where someone on the roundabout is headed, without looking at any indicators.

I was on the roundabout in the outside lane which is exit only here, someone approached into view from maybe 30-40 yards back, way faster than anyone should be driving towards or on the roundabout. Looking straight ahead the whole way, zero hesitation or braking, just straight over and across the entire thing in front of me. Considering she passed two other lanes of waiting traffic about 5 cars deep, it was mental.

I don't normally post videos, but this one put me into shock. This junction is currently left lane straight and left, right lane right only and everybody knows that. This clown was just trying to skip the queue and imo it's a very dangerous manouvre as it's unexpected.

The link is from onedrive, sorry its poor but i don't know of a way to upload the main video with the others in it as the right camera shows where they were.

Check if OpSnap operates in your area.

Send it in and they *might* get prosecuted

I find it mad how many road users there are out there who happily drive around with either an extremely dim or completely broken front or/and read lights. Can they not tell the road ahead of them isn't illuminated evenly?

It's not even a hard job to change them. My fiancé's Sportage gave an error message about one of the front lights, popped into Halfords to buy the bulb after entering her reg into their website to confirm the right bulb and it was easy to switch yourself.

I had the opposite thought, I find it maddening to that I seem to see more and more blinding death rays coming the other way as I drive along. A lot of these really feel like cheap LED bulbs in a halogen housing though, so the beams are all over the place. Still, I do think modern SUVs with modern headlights can be just as bad sometimes.

I'm finding HGV headlights to be quite bad lately as well.

Maybe my eyes are just getting old and tired.

I don't think it's an age thing, my car told the cameras were blinded the other day (6.30 in morning, back roads so pretty dark so lights seemed even brighter).

There seems to be a new habit of folk just driving along on full beams, even on motorways, and not dipping when there's traffic.
Yesterday there was a car dawdling along at 40 going into a 70 zone. I over took once the 2nd lane came in, nothing crazy. As soon as i was past their high beams came on and stayed on for a good while.

I don’t think it was a angry flash at me, weird

Idiots like this need to get a driving ban.
This happened to me coming from Oxford last week and I was on a MOTORBIKE. No joke thought the driving was actually trying to run me off the road. Needless to say I was fuming and genuinely the first time on my bike where I have felt my life was in serious danger.
Very simple, impossible to misinterprete the signals, hatched area, everything - probably one of the simplest roadabouts to navigate in existance, yet the guy (BMW driver of course) comes zooming down the right lane, cuts straight across the road-about and was mere inches from me trying to barge me out of the way.

I have the front footage but its useless, needed the rear really to report.

Slow traffic on A2 this morning, but not standstill....just rolling along at 20MPH. That wasn't fast enough for some dick in a Clio, who came cruising along the hard shoulder to get past; but it's okay everyone, because he had his hazards on! And it's not like he was just cheekily nipping into the hard shoulder for a few metres before his junction, because it was still a good 3/4 of a mile away.

Self entitled ****.

Had a good one this morning. Someone went through a red light on a "big" roundabout near me that joins a motorway. Funny thing was they beeped me but I wasn't even the first car in the queue (was third) when our light changed to green. Think they realised what they'd done after I went past.

With something that obvious you've no idea what their reason is, could well be an emergency.
