Your bad driving encounters

What is it about older folk that buy cheap eastern marques (Kia & MG primarily) who then think they're rocking around in a Rolls Royce like they own the place?
Being in a 'Big' car syndrome. Could be with the size of the car and/or the perceived brand value. :)

Pro Tip: If you see any crossover/compact SUV or a Honda Jazz pulling out of a Garden Centre it is very likely to be driven by an elderly person and extremely slow. Happened today, I was in two minds if I should overtake them using the filter lane straightaway or let them gather speed. When I saw no intention of the Kia Sportage ahead of me to gather momentum beyond 10 mph on a NSL A50, I overtook. A quick glance to my left and I see this elderly lady with her head buried in her phone as I overtook. The tailing Audi also overtook but this lady just didn't speed up as far back as I could see in the mirror.

In the town center saw an Evoque waiting to parallel park in a tight space behind mine. I gestured this guy that I will move my car a bit further so they can park easily (since the car ahead of mine had gone by the time we returned and another car ahead had a parked at half a car length). This is all while my toddler and missus waited to be seated. Once his parking manoeuvre was complete my family sat in and I moved out. Guess what this guy did, he moved his Evoque ahead and blocked two spaces instead. Very inconsiderate. A small hatch could have easily parked in the space I had vacated.

buried in her phone as I overtook

Reminds me on the way to work yesterday, someone came up behind me pretty quickly while I was waiting at lights, while queued behind me and for the next mile or so before they fortunately turned off I watched them fiddling with their phone and watch, wife was passing/taking a drink from them a couple of times, messing about with a bag of crisps, head turned talking to someone in the back, etc. late reacting to what was going on ahead of them, just absolutely no need for it.

Shame I don't have a rear facing dashcam.

Heading back home on the A702 , had a decent lay of snow but the roads were reasonably clear although still freezing and Ivey conditions also the light was fading

Some twonk pulled out from a lay-by right in front of me doing maybe 10mph if that , i managed to just slow down but what on earth are people thinking , i ended up just a few feet of their bumper

They then spent the next 10 miles driving at 30mph

On the way to work earlier, dark rainy and lots of standing water and had someone glued to my tail for a good couple of miles before they seemed to wise up and back off, once we got to the dual-carriageway they floored it off probably close to 90 despite the conditions.

Earlier on completely randomly ran into the previous owner of my truck which was kind of bizarre as I don't normally take it on that run, the one day I decide to and they happen to be parked nearby.

What I am now noticing is that where part of my journey on the M1 goes through average 50mph speed checks, lorries are coming past me at 56mph or are right up my **** when I am using the inside lane.
I know there is margin for error built into the speed camera mechanism, but on Boxing Day morning at 5am when the fog was really bad not being able to see their headlights as they are that close to you can be disconcerting.

Also, noticed on my way home the other morning 3 cars, A class merc, Audi A3 and a BMW 1 series flying down the motorway (M1) and racing each other, constantly swapping lanes and undercutting cars. Again, bit of fog around but I was travelling around the speed limit and these muppets were doing well in excess of 90+.

Sometimes it’s idiots, sometimes it’s a police advanced driving class doing a run, but in the fog almost certainly the former

Had a nice karma moment this morning. I managed to get a parking spot just across the road from where I was going. On my way back to the car I was crossing the road when a Range Rover came out of a side street and drove slowly round me just inches from hitting me. Now the clown saw me and I was sure only to cross when safe but they were obviously too focused on finding a parking spot to let me finish crossing the road.

I unlocked my car from about 20 feet away and they saw this and did a quick U turn to get my soon to be vacant spot. I got in my car and just sat there watching them get more and more irate before they reluctantly moved on. I then drove off letting someone else get my parking spot.

Petty I know:D

I had this a few months ago. I was going through a 50mph roadworks section on the M1. I had cruise set to 50 and was gradually creeping past the car to my left at about 2 mph. The car to my right was keeping exact pace with me. A lorry came up behind me sitting right on my bumper and started flashing as I wasn't going fast enough for them. I couldn't move back into the left lane until I had passed the car and I sure as hell wasn't going to go above 50mph in a speed camera area. I couldn't even slow down and drop back into the left because the lorry was now having sex with my rear bumper. So the impatient lorry driver sat literally inches from me constantly flashing while I gradually got past the car and could move in. Muppet.

More 'bad parking' than 'bad driving', but I encountered this gem of negligence at MK General hospital. This is on the main walkway through the middle of the multi storey car park causing numerous people in wheelchairs, buggies and walking aids to have to walk a much longer and tighter route between other cars and pillars. It's not even like the car park was full - there's a space literally next to them, and even if that was taken when they got there you can see how empty the car park is in the background. What a complete Countryman.

I feel like the hospital is the last place to whinge about parking. Your faux outrage about buggies is noted though. I wonder if they were going to get their eyes checked and missed the empty space to the right to walk through.

We've had 50mph limits on the M1 near me for the refuge building and police have done a large number of truck drivers for this.

The usual 'excuse' is that their speedos are more accurate but I've had it done to me and I was doing 50 by GPS (53-54 on speedo)

Wiper up, love the passive aggressive inconvenience someone has done to the car.

I absolutely detest this and it is way too common.

Typical bully boy attitude usually from some obese tub of rage who thinks he owns the roads. I'm sure they are far less confrontational when not towering above people in their 40t fortress.

Are you blinded enough? Apparently someone thought it was ok to leave their Electric MG with those blasters On parked in the local Aldi with just a passenger sat in it. These were so bright that I couldn't see the bay lines when reverse parking in the bays just in front of that car. Hence decided to park in the bay opposite to it only for my retinas to get burned.
