Your bad driving encounters

Having your rear fog lights ON in no fog is pretty bright. Had a Merc GLE do that to me yesterday.
This morning on a street close to my home was very icy. Always is since council doesn't bother to grit it. Was approaching the give way at about 10-12 mph as I learned last year ABS doesn't work on ice and it was my first encounter. Anyway, Mr. Golf thinks he can manage and comes very close from behind. I had to apply tiniest of brake and the pedal pulsated causing little skid.

I was off the pedal right away. It was interesting to see people follow "normal" distance from the vehicle ahead even in these worse road conditions.

In various places around me, roads are closed due to flooding.

Always get idiots who think they can drive through flooded roads.

Then their cars give up after engine floods etc.

Why do people do this? They do realise that their cars insurance won’t pay out. Also they should be billed by the Fire and Rescue Service too

@Whitewater ?

Not true. Insurance will usually pay out.

Crazy to see people doing it near me when several cars had already flooded out and become stranded though.

Not always - though a little different to private ownership, one of my colleagues has written off one of the work vans in recent flooding and insurance are refusing to pay out saying they shouldn't have sent the van out in the first place with the conditions.

EDIT: Also ended up being 13 grand worth of damage rather than the 11 grand I mentioned before - result being they've written off a fairly new van.

I did say usually :)
On a personal fully comp policy, it should pay out.

Had my regular moron sitting in the turn right only lane try to beat me off the lights and jump in to the left lane. You can usually tell because they come out of a line of cars behind you with their intent clearly advertised. This time it was a BMW i3 who decided an I-Pace was just another pushover. One of those EV owners who believe the hype their EV at 7.4 seconds 0-60 is special.

It’s always the same junction as well and I have lost count of the times it happens. They think getting a few cars ahead is a big achievement.

At least they get going... far too many times at lights with 2 lanes I'll get people go in the right lane then never get going and then either panic or try and bully their way back into lane 1 when there was no good reason they couldn't have just sat in lane 1 and waited a second or two if they weren't going to get going.

My ex colleague drove his 3 series through a flood. Engine got hydrolocked , written off and got paid out.

Did you beat them in the traffic light GP? :p

And another uber driver just pulling straight out of a side road in front of me. That involved a stamp on the brakes and a near collision. Just a wave from the **** and off he goes on his merry way.
I'm sure some of these people don't have licences.

As soon as any private hire driver gets their private hire license their actual driving licence if they did have one goes straight in the bin

I’m sorry, but getting involved in said traffic light GP makes you just as irresponsible as them as all you’re doing is upping the chances of road rage and a potential accident.
It’s not a question of them being in the wrong, you both were.
