Your bad driving encounters

I don't do it for the thanks but, equally, its just rude not to... Almost like a "yeah I am moving over regardless of what you do pal, **** you" action.

Is it wrong that, after a few seconds with no "thanks", I give them a long flash of the full beams? :o

I get it, but beware they are in front of you, so might stop and enquire what your problem is, which might get a bit embarrassing for you if you aren’t prepared to stand and bang.

Ummmm yeah, it's certainly not against any laws unlike your action.

I'm just following HC Rule 110 to alert them I am there as, to me, it looked like they were not aware of my presence as they pull in front of me. Not illegal as you state.

I mean let's just start punching people in the face if they don't thank you for holding the door while we're at it.

But assault is illegal unless in self defence of yourself or others... Are there any circumstances in your example which would lean towards self defence?

People are entitled to their own opinion but please don't throw legalities around wrongly.

Why wouldn't they be aware? You've said you slow down and give them space therefore they've not cut you up?

You've also already given them a couple of flashes to make them aware you're there and letting them go.

Let's not pretend that waiting to see if you get a thank you before giving them a long blast of high beams is because you're worried they don't know you're there.

The above is just your opinion, and I have given mine... We are both perfectly entitled to them. Your apparent need to have your opinion be the only correct one is a you issue however.

Still confused how physically assaulting someone in your door holding scenario is even remotely the same as my own scenario... One involves bright lights and the other involves causing actual physical damage to another person ... But then me thinking its a daft comparison is simply my opinion, you do you ;)

I let people out as a nice thing to do, if I get an acknowledgement, great, if not, then I still feel happy about doing something nice, shrug and get on with my day.
