Your bad driving encounters

On a duel carriageway with a filter for turning right. White van driver decides to drive right wheels on the raised reservation and left wheels on road to go to the right turn filter. I was going straight ahead and the right turn lights turned right as soon as the WVD went to the junction. What did he achieve? Me shouting serves you right

As a passenger today 3 times on roundabouts had someone use the left lane to continue around after the last exit that lane was supposed to be used for and or having to move over when the lane only went to the exit it was supposed to be used for... cutting us up. I know the roundabouts seem worse and worse for layout and signage but still - in 2 cases they were blissfully unaware, 3rd case they just didn't care. If I hadn't been with someone fairly on the ball 2 of them would have likely been accidents.

Personally I'd have taken a more staggered formation on the roundabout due to people like that but even that only helps so much.

Anyone who has driven on the Leeds City Loop. Get drivers cutting you up all the time. As some parts have literally one car length opportunity to change lanes.

Majority of parents taking their kids to Leeds Uni and Leeds Beckett (formerly Met) Uni have experienced this road.

Not driven on this loop for 8 years and this was when I hardly drove.

I hate Leeds, the roads aren't much better  . I live near Hull, but I've visited the porsche and teslas dealerships and found navigating it a royal pain. I find it confusing/stupid to only have arrows on the roads, as in heavy traffic a none local such as myself just has to guess. Didn't realise how bad the traffic is in rush hour either, one time I was taking a boxster courtesy car back, and it took me an hour to get from the slip road to the dealership:eek: (couldn't tell you which junction though as was about 5 years ago).

Everyone who has taken children to university in Leeds (including my parents) got lost in Leeds. Only been to once before Uni - when Royal Armouries relocated to Leeds a few years earlier.

Poor signage esp for the non local

Yeah, there are parts of the A38 in bhm which are like this - horrible road design, especially as with most of these sections there's no visibility of the joining road until you're already on the merging section!

I hate the Leeds system. I end up in the wrong lane every time and then you have people glaring at you as you try to squeeze in to change lanes. Some junctions/roundabouts only have the marking on the road for the which lane you need to be in and in rush hour traffic they are covered by cars. Whoever designed it needs shooting.

Glad it's not just me who dislikes it. Fwiw I've only really driven through Leeds and Nottingham, but Nottingham seemed to flow much better.

On my motorbike had a lady last night just decide she was not going to yield priority when she had parked cars on her side of the road, I carried on going as there was a gap there that she could have also pulled into...but no just kept on going forcing me to get squeezed. Needless to say I was ******.

I was driving behind a car which stopped. A yoof parked his car by a pedestrian island, putting his hazard lights on so could use the ATM at the bank outside. His lazy attitude caused queues. Managed to reverse so could drive on the other side of the road. Other side of road's traffic was at a red light so that side was clear. If that happened about 30 mins later, I wouldn't been able to do this due to heavier traffic.

Utter lazy *******.

Thanks for the warning all. My oldest wants to go to Leeds to study Law. She can get the train :)
So she is going to take her clothes, laptop, clothes airer, bedding etc onto the train? Good luck with that.

The train drivers tend to strike on days deemed to be traditional for their busiest. The 3rd weekend in Sept is fresher student moving in week.

I would seriously use a sat nav or map app on your phone as if you go into the wrong lane, it will correct you.
