Your bad driving encounters

So due to popular demand, here's a picture of my Mrs front end :D . It's not too bad, but she did mention one day thus week the steering lock wouldn't disengage, I'm not sure if it's related as the scuff doesn't seem heavy enough to have upset any sensors.

Write off mate.

The last two weeks each year get the idiots who are completely careless about driving.

On Saturday I was moving trolleys to the front of the store. Some driver clipped another car without stopping. I saw it happen and put a note under a wiper blade. Saying it was this reg car and if you want more info ask to speak to colleague (my name). Driver was naturally p’d off but thanked me for making a note of the registration

Classic deflection tactic when someone knows they are in the wrong, scream and shout about how it's someone else's fault, until people start to question if they might actually be in the right. It's basically gaslighting. It definitely does seem to be on the rise a lot more, don't know if it's because of social media and how fake everyone is, or leads further back to school where everyone is told they're "a winner" and can do no wrong?
On this case the guy was a proper meat head, he was driving a smart car and got out like it was a clown car, clearly got roid rage!

Almost had a head-on with a bell in a beemer. Approaching a traffic calming measure, my priority so the first oncoming vehicle stops and I proceed then beemer bell (one series) not bothering to slow down goes to overtake the stopped car, realised there's a 13ton bus in his way and ditched on to the grass verge/pavement.

Part of me wished he'd have hit. No chance he wouldn't have been serious injured.

Always boggles my mind when someone(s) start coming to a stop and the first instinct of some people behind them is to try and go around without checking (a) if it is clear (b) why they've stopped - so many times seen people doing that into the path of emergency vehicles.

I do wonder if this is one of the reasons for the increase in terrible driving.
Doesn't surprise me there is literally zero policing of the roads these days cars regularly do over the ton down the bypass its like a shooting range trying to merge into the main traffic trying to gauge the speed of the cars coming down the carriageway at that speed a car a hundred yards or more off will be on top of you in seconds you grit your teeth and hope for the best sometimes

A pet peeve is when a dual narrows into a single carriageway theres always a couple of drivers who just have to get infront of you no matter what and will miss you by inches while piling on the brakes at the same time

i get stink eye and twerps pulling out on me at our local (semi)mini roundabout all the time. my road is a no right turn so I have to go to the (semi) mini roundabout and go all round it .
I get it that cars may not expect this if they do not know the area but I am signalling right so.......

also I do kind of expect this to happen so am ready for it..... however when people do go to pull out on me I do expect a wave of an apology,.not stink eye or flashing lights/horn/ranty language.
Oh people just expect you to move out of the way for them had that yesterday a van pulls out of a parking layby even though I'm coming up the lane towards him had to swerve out of the way gave him a well blast of the horn and got one in return... white van so 'nuff said.

Christ it was bad driving on the M5/303 yesterday the rain and spray and flooded roads and being blinded by oncoming traffic surprised there weren't pileups was never more happy to turn off the 303/M3 ratrun into london even though I missed the turning initially and had to double back

The chances of getting caught are tiny.

Check this out: LINK

Personally the consequences of getting caught need to be more severe. I've seen it numerous times on these RoadWars/Police Interceptor type programs. They catch someone DWD and the courts just hand them another ban, because the first one worked really well.

Put em on tag and house arrest for the remainder of the ban, if they breach that then they become a guest of HMP.

I was driving behind a tiny old woman in a Mini, every corner she went round was on to the other side of the road. At one point a car was coming and she was half way into their lane, it was quite terrifying! Luckily she was the one person who hasn't crashed into me......yet! :D

A 20 year old got hit by a speeding car here just before Christmas, carried hundreds of metres on the bonnet, and the car just drove off.
Died on Christmas day. And today there are still morons speeding through the village and zero police presence.

bugger. have they caught who did it?
Apparantly they know, but wether it goes anywhere...

It honestly feels like the wild west out there, and you're basically on your own. I can't make one car journey without seeing someone doing something stupid and/or illegal. I just try to keep out the way.

you would think if they have an idea then they must have found the car which was involved. at that point the registered owner should know who was driving.

Yesterday went down a one way street. Almost collided into a Deliveroo cyclist cycling the wrong way. Had no lights on bike and was wearing dark clothing. This was about 24 hours ago.

Cycles should have lights fitted by law.
