Your bad driving encounters

If we're going down the "they should have given way" discussion then the only right of way advice in the highway code is purely advisory.

This on the other hand is not.

So out of the two of you only one was breaking an actual must not rule.

Although like I said earlier it basically sounds like neither of you were making anyone's life easier.
Ok, let's be clear when I stopped there was no other vehicle in that area of road that was being blocked or obstructed, the only obstruction was caused by the other driver coming down to where I was even though they would have realised that I was stopped and had no where to pull-in. They had passed numerous parking spaces that would have allowed me to continue if I was driving slowly.I have been in the same situation on this road and just pulled in and waited for the other driver to start off.

I did nothing most of you would have done.

Sense of entitlement here. You were in the wrong, you cannot see this because you think you were right.

You made a judgement call that the wife would be quick posting the letter and blocked the road - unfortunately, your gamble didn't pay off and another vehicle approached. Instead of owning your mistake, you are defending your actions.

Just put your hands up and admit you were wrong initially, imo both parties are in the wrong - no need for the other guy to be that uptight about it.

Whether there was someone coming or not it's irrelevant, you blocked the road.

You're right but most of us would probably look back and go "you know what, yeah I didn't really help myself there".

Making mistakes is absolutely fine, we all do it but doubling down and refusing to take any responsibility and maybe modifying your behaviour in future is the problem.

I don't think I'm entitled, far from it, I'm just saying that the road section that I was on, I was there before the other was even near so I was not blocking anyone, I did not leave the car so therefore I did not leave it in a dangerous position, there was no gaps on either side of this section of road but plenty on the section the other car was, if I was going to be any longer than just posting a card I would have parked up. Like I said I have been on the other end of this on the same road and I waited for the other car to clear me, this driver could have parked up but didn't, they could have taken a very slight detour but didn't, they could have been polite but they weren't. Yes I should have parked up but I was stationary for less than a minute as there was no spaces to park straight away, in the time it took the wife to open the car door and get in, this car had passed a right turn and parking spaces.

As stated before this section of road had no spaces yet the section the other car was on had plenty. I have not said I didn't make a mistake, I am just saying that the other car didn't help by continuing on down when I would have had to carry on up.

Parked in Halfords today just needed to get some Sealent, I was parked right near the entrance/exit. Upon getting back to my car, I reversed out as a guy let me out, I passed him and he gave me the thumbs, second old guy behind him, waving his arms at me, saying you're going the wrong way, go back expecting me to go around the entire car park. When the exit was behind my car and it was two lanes wide, wtf  ( There was no arrow directions behind my car )

Sufficed to say I just looked at him, shrugged my shoulders and said AND? What you going to do?

Must've really ruined his life, a fate worst than death itself

Wasn't in Chelmsford was it?

While walking the dog today I saw a Range Rover go down a small one way section of a hospital car park instead of going around the small island to go the same way. Either they missed the no entry signage on the road and post's by not paying attention or just ignored them,

Approaching a roundabout just down from my house, i was just about at the roundabout having right of way then a car from the left entry to the roundabout came flying across. It is quite common for people to not look at this round about so was already half expecting them to do it. It normally doesn't bother me as getting peeved with peoples driving would make me stressed all the time but the driver had a set of over-ear headphones on which seemed to irritate me.
