Your car appears to be scared of the ground...

These threads are great, I love the cars Penski posts.

I just don't get the moaners, if these threads offend you so much, just hit the back button and get on with your day

Comedy negative comments on the cars are funny and help make these threads great, but to actually moan about why they are posted is just bizzare

You can see the intrigue though? If you can post hundreds of pictures of other peoples cars but not your own, it almost seems as if you are ashamed of it's existence.

I posted a thread a couple of months back when it got picked up to get sorted.

I'll probably post another when I get it back.

Don't see the point in weekly updates of 'it's still the same car...Not magically turned into a Fiat Ritmo'.

I post loads of stuff that I like because that's how every other car forum I post on works; you share things you like, ideas et cetera.

For some reason, I'm the only one on here that does so. Can't remember the last time I saw a pic dump from anyone else.

Maybe I should go make a Donk thread (I made one with literally hundreds of photos on RR a few months back...)...I know how well you guys would receive that ;)

its a open forum is it not?

if people can take the **** out of corsas, anyone with anything under 2litres, chavs and stick on tat, or Fox's attractions to mondeo / BMW's then surely we can comment on cars that wont even go over a pot hole without botteming out? :p

You completely missed the point of my post. I have no problem with the comments on the actual cars, I find them funny and they are a big part of what makes these threads great.

What I don't understand is people moaning about the reasons for posting the thread, digs at penski etc.

like this one? lol

And so you should, but it's posts like Muffin's that don't make sense. What has it got to do with anything what Penski drives, or even if he can drive?

People seem to get so excited about it all "why do you post threads like this?? Do you even own a car like thes?? Can you even drive???!?" and so on.

I mean, it would be a fairly boring forum if you were only allowed to post threads about the car you currently own.

Think of my posts as an antithesis of all the people who post about their car being 'slammed' when it's running rims 3-4" larger than stock and a -40mm set of springs.

I personally love the threads Penski Posts, its a chance for me to see something outside of my own tastes that people put a lot of work into, and for me thats enough to merit respect - and avert a moan

After reading this thread, I feel I NEED to slam my car... my friends commented on my facebook photo with this:

"glad to see its prepared to go off road.... slam it dude!!!

nice though eh!!!!

but slam it! your not dubbin unless your scraping!"

i think the reason they say this is because they think (as i do) that most of these cars would fail a MOT and are rust buckets, so ain't drivable... that's why they ask.

Its much like my dad keeping his E reg Micra thats falling apart due to rust... Why? and yes im comparing a Micra to these things. they are covered in rust and deserve some good servicing, or scrapping just like my dads Micra.... like the Bus comment, if all i could afford was a £50 rust bucket (that costs £200-500 a year on parts that fail), id rather get a bus.

i just dont get slammed cars at all... yours, or people that buy 19inch rims for there 1.2 fiestas and lower them by 40... whats the point?

just because a f1 car is a few inches off the ground and fast, doesnt mean its gona do it to your fiesta etc... lol

I'd imagine that they are all MOT'd and perfectly drivable. It's a scene, not my scene, really, but a scene nontheless.

Having a car is an extension of who you are, obviously. Some people relish the idea of spending as little as possible, but still having a working vehicle that's as individual as they are, others spend a lot of money making a car look like it's a rust bucket about to fall apart, simply to get the sort of reaction you have just given.

Every car in this (and other Penski threads) is a statement. They were created to look like that for a reason, not because that's how they were dragged out of the breakers yard (although I suppose if you find one with the perfect rat look to begin with, it saves a lot of work ;))

Maybe your dad should slam that Micra to the floor and get some respect on the RR forums :D

All the cars posted are fully taxed and tested. Any that do have rust only have a scant bit of surface rust that has either been sorted since the phot has been taken, will be sorted shortly or will be left because it doesn't affect the car in any way other than how it looks and the owner doesn't care.

Oh and as far as I can recall, all the cars posted are daily drivers. Your argument holds no water.

Evidentally you have no idea what you're looking at or talking about. ;)

If you can find me a Split-window VW bus, Merc SEL on Air, a mint Minor, a Merc W123, a near-concours Vauxhall Magnum or a Mitsubishi Celeste (in any condition) for £50, I'll give you £100 and you can keep the change.

It looks good.

It's not practical, it is a pain in the Harris to live with and it knackers bearings et cetera...But it looks good.

You think people drop their cars on their backsides to go fast?!

Hah!

I wasnt saying they wasnt going to pass MOT etc penski, im just saying the guys that post those "what do you drive" comments are probably thinking that.

anyway... everyone has different tastes, you slam cars because it looks good to you, chavs stick on tat to there cars because it looks good to them. same thing, same results when posted on forums..

have fun :)

Because he posts such a large amount of threads of a particular style, never talks about what he drives, just what other people drive, are you following?

People seem to get so excited about it all "why do you post threads like this?? Do you even own a car like thes?? Can you even drive???!?" and so on.

So it is beyond you comprehension that other people might be slightly curious as to why a person so vocal on their tastes never posts what they actually own?

My questions were answered anyway.

What's with all the whingin' comments?

I personally love penski's threads simply cause they are the sorts of cars I'd love to own if I had the time and patience. Also how can car enthusiasts not love the Datsun 100A, Mitshi Celeste, the older Mercs etc.. is beyond me :D
