Your current Fish tank Setups!

What is it, got a link matey.

Mindstream is a monitor that measures all the important stuff, alk, calcium, magnesium.. without the need for reagents.

Looks/sounds like a very decent bit of kit.

Edit: here's the full list of stuff.

Carbonate Alkalinity*, Calcium, Magnesium,
Salinity, Temperature, pH**, Oxygen,
Carbon Dioxide, Ammonia***, Potassium

Cheers will Check it out, was always going to go neptune apex one day but don't like the company the way they treated the uk market with the new energy bar which they refuse to support here.

I like that the industry has put a lot of effort into the testing side of thing. As this is the worse part of the hobby, and putting drops in vials yourself cannot be accurate. Then there's also the fact that the parameters change over the course of the day. The new alk testers controllers sounded good, but they depend on you buying the reagents forever. This should hopefully be the best and most accurate tester available.

Consumables & Maintenance

  • Replace small sensor disc shipped monthly with subscription
  • No liquid reagents
  • No maintenance, no tubing replacement
Needs a subscription

Ah I didn't see the sensor needs changing. That's disappointing if its expensive.

I knew about the subscription but don't know how much that is.

Tbh ive been cooing over an apex for a while now but for the money (£800+) id like it to be able to Monitor alk mag and ca Put of the box but it seems like you need another £500 + module

And then how much are the reagents? And how often do you need to buy them?

I would hope that prices drop as there's more competition.

From googling its about $20 a month in re agents so by the time its over here it will be £100 a month no doubt, thing is it wouldnt end there as you would then need an apex compatible doser for it to correct anything it finds etc.

I think you would have to be very committed (or spook with his limitless money) to go down that rabbit hole

Edit @rebel rebel just found some more info on that mind stream.

  • MindStream monitor and initial replaceable sensor disc: in the $700-900 range retail.
  • Replaceable sensor discs: $34.95 assuming an annual subscription with automatic disc delivery and automatic monthly debit payment. This is a discounted price from the price of individual discs, which will be available for purchase on our Web site. We recommend that the disc be replaced at least every 30 days in order to maintain optimal accuracy.

loool I ain't that bad am I :)

Tbh since putting my GHL doser on, my tank is now very stable so I know testing can be done less often after i spent a few weeks dialing the usage in, not keen paying monthly for a subscription model I have enough direct debits to deal with lol.

Thanks for the answers guys, well I have bought a 100gpd 4 stage RODI unit and also 100gpd booster pump. Where do I fit the booster pump before all the filter/membranes? Cheers
