Your current Fish tank Setups!

I tested my tank yesterday and everything was spot on so bought a few fish today, they seem to be doing well.

Greedy little things!

Those glass fish look cool :)

I've just got some new additions myself, 3 glass shrimp, never had shrimp before but they are awesome little creatures :D I put them in the bottom left of the tank when I got them but all 3 have decided the bogwood on the far right is the place to be :p

Also updated pic of my tank, it's just after a big trim of the plants so looking a little bare at the back at the moment:

I miss my tropical fish tank :( We had quite a few different fish in their ranging from the neon tetras (If that's correct) to the one shark we had (Not a proper shark).

Paid around £200 for everything had a nice set up and then it got given away for free :(

Why?!

Just got my first little fish tank because of this thread. I think i've found a new hobby!

took delivery of my 28g HQI this morning :)

only my gfs mum was inso the poor guy had to bring it in on his own.

after much confusion and a cup of tea over building the stand (someone had labeled the tops wrong) i got it upstairs with a little help and did a little test of the lights.

the ballast was vibrating very loud. does anyone know if this get quieter as it is used?

here it is anyway:

should hopefully have my RO unit installed by the weekend to get it filled! its good timing as i get paid on friday and can order live rock :):)

i need to clean the inside of the tank so how should i do this? i would assume soap is a no no.

having a hard time with my malawi set up at the moment, my 2 female m.parallelus keeps attacking my male (yes thats right) and a few weeks ago he was battered :( i took him out and nursed him back to full health and the fry trap he was in sunk (or got nocked over by the other fish) and, well, that was the end of him :(

gutted.

when i first planted, had been cycling for 2 months before these went in along with another zebra loach (had 2 waiting to move across), here it is now after two trims

WP_000126.jpg

3 pearl gouramis (1 male, 2 female)
14 harlequin rasboras
3 zebra loaches (botia striata)
and numberless cherry shrimp.

T5 lighting from 2 54 watt bulbs and regular liquid fertiliser for the plants.

no deaths so far, most of the above was old stock from my other tank as well so I was pleased they all survived the transition.

I am on the verge of setting up my first marine tank, Fluval Roma 240. Really excited about this! Anyone else put a large tank upstairs in their bedroom?

Will be fine.

I have a 190l in the corner (first floor) in a 15th century barn. So, yours will be fine :)

If you want to be extra carefull, put it across the floor beams, rather than along them. But to be honest, for a tank of that size, its not an issue.

Search the net, if you can find 1 story of a tank going through a roof, I will give you an E-cookie :D

was going to set up a 5ft but when i got the tank up stairs (do not reccomend) the next day were the tank was set up, in the downstairs ceiling there was a rectangular crack exactly were the tank was. i decided not to fill it with water.

Tried to take some current shots of my fish today but the minute I got the camera out they all went shy :o

Firstly Keith the Blood Shrimp

Wow I see, but that surely couldn't have weighed too much if it was empty? Maybe 100 kgs?
