i've used one of the fishmate things with great success for two weeks, you can mix pellets and flakes in the compartments and set it up to dispense once a day. Its worth plumbing the airline in if you have one as it keeps the food dry while it sits over the humid tank - if you don't its likely to get damp and clog up.

Thanks for the replies. I've got an air line hooked up to a stone at the moment but what I'll do is buy this autofeeder and test run it for two weeks.

good plan you can get air line splitters for ~£1 but getting the right ballance of pressure between the two halfs so both the airstone and feeder get enough air is a royal pain in the rear

they looks like Tiger or Pentazona barbs to me, most likely Tiger to be honest, they don't look red enough for Pentazona which are pretty rare.

Looks to be the one Yes they're lovely, I was recommended them to help control my snail problem

They do that very well. I have 6 in my tank to keep snails down and barely see any when the lights are on now.

Sounds good, I'm fed up of the snails, I've removed at least 200 over a couple of months and done a full-scale clean-out but they just keep coming back

we got some chain loaches a few years back, they totally cleared out the snails in a few weeks - get them some JBL NovoTab for once they run out of snails

Cool I was told that they'll eat catfish pellets once the snails have gone. The guy at the fish store was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions in full, It's worth going the extra 5 or 6 miles each way for service like that.

Just add 1 or 2 Assassin Snails they will sort your snail problem out and they look awesome to.
