Your current Fish tank Setups!

15" wide 30" long tanks aren't that common tbh - most people buying them will have a 30x15x12 (lxdxw), in fact got 8 of them in the back garden right now, one of which did house the family gerbil until he snuffed it last Christmas. You'd be free to have it except you're at the other end of the country to me.

Ah right didn't know that. We called a local shop who said they could call their supplier to get one made. Better to cut out the middleman so the search goes on.

Thanks for the offer though.

Well my new tank is finished

Right! Amazingly I've managed to get my arse in gear enough for a bit of a video update. Very happy with how things are progressing. Plants and livestock doing well, except for the Mexican gammarus which are being hunted with much enthusiasm by the Peacock gudgeons I added recently.

As you can see, the Hydrocotyle tripartita has gone berserk. Love it.

Hate reading this thread. Got a Jewel Rio 180 tank sitting outside on the decking because there is nowhere in my house to have it. I have the office upstairs which never gets used so seems a waste having a tank up there. :(

Full marine setup I was hoping to start this year but to many other things going on in my life so unfortunately It will have to go :(

Not too long til I start to build my iwagumi scape in my Rio 180. I'm just waiting on delivery of my black tahitian moon sand next Friday. Cant wait!

Got a couple of shots of the rosy loaches (Yunnanilus sp. 'Rosy') chilling out while I had the camera pointed at the tank - just messing around with a new cheapish flash setup really, but I don't think I've posted many shots of them before, and they really are lovely little fish:

Just a quick question, Currently have a Tetra setup in a rather small tank (60ltr) which is placed in my bedroom I have coped with it for over a year now. Lately I have been having rubbish sleeps and constantly feeling unrefreshed I believe it's due to the constant humming of the stock air pump, there are no vibrations purely the sound of the pump so I decided to order a "Tetra APS 100 (Silent Air Pump)" which provides sufficient power for 50 - 100 Ltr tanks this happens to be louder than my stock air pump my quick question would be they have an APS 50 which is for 10 - 50 ltr which I have figured out the hard way that this will do for my tank now would anyone know if the 50 would be as noisy as this supposedly silent air pump since they are the exact same design but since it's less power Im presuming it would be quieter? Would be grateful to anyone who could answer this or recommend me another air pump or any tips would be great!

At a rough guess it'll be a bit quieter, but you'll never get a truly silent air pump. Assuming air isn't required to run a filter how about plugging the air pump into a timer switch and have it off overnight?

That's an idea although unfortunately it does run a filter just curious how long would fish in a tank like mine (60L) with 10/12 Small/Medium Tetra's be able to survive and obviously in a safe zone of not having the air stone oxygenating the tank? This is purely curiosity as there is plenty I still need to learn in regards to the fish keeping hobby.

Done some fiddling around and at the moment it's pretty quiet and isn't a problem just some nights when the room is completely silent I find it keeping me awake. May order the 10 - 50L Pump and see if there is any difference is noise level but in the long run it may have to be moved into the living room.

Ive put up with it for over a year now, but Ill see if I can solve it!

Thanks for you response, would be greatful if anyone knows of the comparison between APS 50 and APS 100 (Tetra Air Pumps)

Well I've caught the bug again, I got rid of all my tanks over 5 years ago. But have recently got hold of a second hand tank and jumped straight back in with the Mbuna's and my havent the prices gone up.

I made a quick video if anyone wants to see some baby Malawi cichlids
