Your Favorite Band/Singer at the moment?

Into coheed, heard a fair few songs by them that are awesome - although I have a strange suspician that the singer is a girl / castretee from the way he sings, esp in the suffering :p

Listening to a lot of Mono at the moment, but I still can't tear myself away from Isis. With RATM now long gone I think they could just be the best band in the whole wide world.

65 Days of Static

Are my favourite bands right now at this moment.

No such band as 65 Days of Static :p

For me:

Elliott Smith - Roman Candle
65daysofstatic - The Fall Of Math

Both sensational albums.

Mono
Envy
City of Caterpillar
Mogwai
Coheed & Cambria
Bright Calm Blue
Modest Mouse
Eels

...have all been getting a lot of play recently. I wouldn't like to pick a favourite.

City of Caterpillar are such a good band.

For me:
Sage Francis every day of my damn life!
Circle Takes the Square (As The Roots Undo is an awesome album).
Darkest Hours Undoing Ruin is practically always on.
A Wilhelm Scream.
The Unseen.
Rise Against (always).
Some Bright Eyes.
Some Onelinedrawing.
A bit of Elliott Smith.
And on the odd occasion this week: Kid Dynamite, Bad Religion and Dillenger Escape Plan.

This past week I've got a bit addicted to Insomnia :o To the point that it's my alarm clock alert :D

Other than that, mainly been listening to the Foo Fighters and the Prodigy so guess they'd be my favourite at the moment.

Are my current favs...

What are these City of Caterpillar guys like?
The very defination of the word screamo. Crazy. I can't find an MP3 to link to unfortunately.

All I can say is that they're good, but Pg. 99 were better. I also think that Circle Takes the Square are superior. Not many screamo bands exist anymore :(

Probably give it a miss then, anything ending with the letters 'mo' makes me want to nuke the Earth into a billion pieces.

Heh, I saw their name being bandied about and I'd always heard about them, but never actually heard them, so I went out and bought IKSoSE:3 the other day. I thought it was Mohinder who was blathering on about them, but he tells me that it was probably you. They're quite good, although I don't really see the post-rock influences. Their singer sounds like the guy in Panic! At The Disco too :p

It was me, I got him into Co & Ca :p

Post-rock definitely not.

Prog-rock yes.

They're emo with massive, gargantuan post-rock sections. They're like Godspeed would be if they could ever muster any emotion other than pained melancholy. They're subtle and mellow sometimes, and then they come crashing in with a sonic assault to rival the heaviest of the heavy. They're intense. Go get some.

Maybe whoever described them to me said prog instead of post. I get confused sometimes!

Yea it seems you do (seeing as you've got it the wrong way round again :p)
