Your favourite gpu, ever? Blast from the past..

Voodoo 5 / ATi 9800se / Nvidia gtx480 SOC. I think overall it's close, but I'd say it comes down to a toss up between the 480 and Voodoo 5.

Also, worthy of mention are : ATi 8500le / 4870X2.

I remember the my old gfx cards for the games that got a massive jump in FPS:

3dfx Voodoo - Quake
VideoLogic Kyro II - Deus Ex
ATI 9000 pro - EverQuest
ATI 9600XT - Half Life 2

Since then I've had a 7800gt, 8800gt, and gtx460. Oddly, for these cards, I can't recall a single game that caused me to upgrade. I think this marks a transition point, where I stopped buying upgrades because a particular game was running too slow... since then I've bought upgrades because the cash was burning a hole in my pocket :p
 
9800 Pro 128mb. First card I overclocked and then created a custom bios and changed the cooler on. Lots of experience gained from it and it still works to this day amazingly. :D
