your first/primary school

Mine's been flattened and rebuilt further down the road, with the original site left derelict for 10 years now. I walked past there a few weeks ago for the first time since I left in 1995, and found it startling just how much smaller the site is than I remember it.

Still standing, but they levelled a small hill on the playing fields that my friends and I used to spend our time on - it's given way to car parking spaces. I told those that I'm still in touch with and they were gutted. :(

On the plus side, they've expanded the actual school - bigger halls and classrooms etc, so it's not all bad.

My first one Brookhouse Green Primary is demolished.

When we moved i went onto Adderley Green Infaants which is still standing but been empty for a few years now. Managed to get inside ( legally ) and took loads and loads of photos of the place before it is demolished. 2 of 4 kids went here.

Woodhouse Junior school was demolished late 2009 to make way for a new building. Managed to get loads of photos of the demolition as well. Very sad to see it go.

My secondary school was Willfied and i bilieve that too is going to be demolished as well.

Still there, but most of the playground has been built on now. There were portacabins there when I was there, but it's expanded a fair bit. Still has the lovely large playing field it had before though. (This must have been about a year ago now though - I rarely have any reason to be going through that area nowadays (I live in a different area)).

Mine's still there, they've stopped using the swimming pool now though (by the look of the google map images anyway)

Open top, unheated pool, at the highest point of the school, yeah, that was fun!

Still here.

Nothing like what it was though. The head was a brilliant man, and that school really was the best in the area. He ran a tight ship and really had the best staff possible.
Whilst I was at secondary school the local rag printed a story about the head (something about allegedly beating up his boyfriend) and he resigned. School has gone downhill massively :(.

If I see the head or any of the teachers I had I'd gladly buy them a pint :).

Mines still there, wish it wasn't though. Had a stupidly small bladder when I was small, teacher would make us do long prayers at the end of each lesson. I wet myself a lot through primary school.

:(
