your first/primary school

My primary school got demolished a few years back now, not too long after they'd merged it with the primary school next door. Slightly unfortunate for the kids now in that they'll never be able to have snowball fights with the kids across the fence.

As far as decisions go it didn't make a lot of sense to me as my primary school had the bigger grounds and at the time was actually one proper building with lots of classrooms in it - still at least the school they've moved to has progressed from being 2 buildings and 3 portakabins into being several buildings with real classrooms now.

Yes and no.

Originally the school was spread across two sites, Nursery to Year 1 on one and Year 2 to Year 6 on another. Towards the end of my time in primary school, the first site was demolished and they added some prefabs to the larger site so that everything was in one place. That one is still standing and will probably stay there as it's the main feeder for the secondary which is only a few hundred metres from it.

Still standing

Nop, demolished and rebuilt

Gone from a nice lightly fenced off school with massive glass windows and field to now looking like a concentration camp with full steel gates... Really sad.

Mine's still standing, infact it's being expanded and renovated as well, I go past it occasionally and it brings back some good memories.

Saw an artical in the local newspaper the other week about the head teacher retiring though (she was the head teacher when I was there), makes me feel quite old thinking about it.

My primary school still stands which is more than I can say for my Secondary School. My nursery school still exists although it is closed down and awaiting refurbishment (old Victorian school building which will probably be converted into flats).

Primary school still standing, but middle school demolished to make way for houses.

Note: We used to have a three tier system in Bradford (until about 7-8 years ago) so you went Primary school, then Middle School and then Upper School.

In Liverpool there is plans to knock down every school and rebuild it. Now the tories are in power I am not sure if it will continue. A load of schools have already been knocked down and rebuilt.

Mine caught fire (electrical fire they assumed)

My brother was a student there at the time

Randomly, Noel Edmonds paid for all the pupils and one parent each to go on holiday in Norway or somewhere? And the real Ant and Dec went with them :D

I've got a photo somewhere of my mum posing with Dec
