your first/primary school

What I find really weird is how small my primary school looks when I go past it. I know obviously I was smaller then, but when you're at school when you're little it's this great big building and then you go back past it when you're in your 20s and it looks like a little hobbit school.

Might just be me. Might also be the same as everyone thinking wagon wheels are shrinking when we're just getting bigger, but it's just that it *feels* big. Remember when you first went to primary school from infants and it was all big and scary? I feel like I'd bang my head on the top of the door when I went in now comparatively.

Still there. I still remember playing British Bulldog on that playground.

Before it got banned.

Yea those were the days,, why did it get banned ?

Ive just been checking out the lunch time deserts

"Desserts: Chocolate and Sultana Krispie Cake with Custard or Strawberries and Kiwi Slices" WTF is that about lol

What ever happened to good old bananas and custard :D

Still standing, walked past it today infact.
Although now the ENTIRE site is fenced off. Goes all around a public footpath and all 3 of the playgrounds. They went abit ape **** over security after an old shed was set on fire - which spread to an old wooden water tank that was on the roof. :/

And how can a school ban Bulldog?! Best game evar. Unless you were in the middle by yourself, that sucked. :(

Mines still standing, been there 100 odd years though (maybe more) and its the main bit of a really old village. Shame its now only doing ages 4-7 (went to 8 when I was there) and used to go up to 11 a long while ago.

Strange to go back too as it really is tiny, even though I lived opposite till I was 16 I never got how small it was till I saw it again fairly recently

I have no idea if my primary school's still there. It's a long way away and it isn't exactly in a nice neighborhood... (Harare, Zimbabwe)

My nursery and primary schools are still there, as is my secondary school but my college has long gone - replaced by houses. It got moved to a new building far closer to McDonalds - they don't even need a car to get there at lunchtimes now... what's the point in learning to drive at 17 now?:confused::p

My first school, rather than primary, was knocked down and turned in to housing fifteen years ago. Shame, it was a good old fashioned school, which I have fond memories of.

The nanny state didn't really exist back in the early 80's. Well not at my school. There were logs you could slip off, stepping stones that were sharp and wobbly, and stuff you could climb up and fall down from (with no nice bark floor to land on either). British Bulldog was allowed too, amongst other things... :D

My first school was turned into a Primary School. My middle school was demolished and turned into houses, such a shame because most of my teachers there were absolutely fantastic :(

They changed the 3 tier school system to a 2 tier ages ago, and lots of decent teachers lost their jobs.
