Your Gaming TV!

Hmm na doesnt seem to be working then, digital foundry article goes through the settings needed to make sure hdr is appearing as it should but surely without tweeking the brightness etc it should still pick up a hdr source and display it as described above?

I enabled uhd colour for all sources

Thinking maybe its my cable then?

Is that a 10 bit panel? HDR10.

I posted this in the home cinema forum but 2016 LG OLED have begun getting a rollout to add a game mode to HDR which lowers input lag from 67 to 34ms!

US only so far and only effective on C6, E6 and G6 models. Apparently the B6 firmware update will deploy on 6th December.

So the KS8000 is back in stock at John Lewis. I'm tempted to pick one up prior to Christmas. Is this one of the best in terms of HDR and input lag. Will be mainly used for PS4 pro and Netflix and occasional PC use

Mine has Game mode.

You get what you pay for. Input lag is important. What's the point of an extra beam of light if the screen is slow? I don't notice the screen slowdown personally though.

now is the worst time to buy a tv. they go EOL in January-Feb and are usually reduced to half price to clear stock. stock is also thin then as it's EOL so you got to be quick but I would rather wait 2 months and get it for half the price.

my 50" GT50 was £799 - £1400 4 months earlier in john lewis
51" D8000 plasma was £649 - £1600 6 months earlier in John Lewis

however you cannot choose what tv's will have stock it's a bit of a lottery what will still be available when made EOL in January but it's the best time to pick up a bargain if you keep your eyes peeled and are open about the model you want.

Yeah I was planning to buy a HDR 4K but would be pointless right now as there will be new ones next year, and like you said the old ranges will be reduced and potentially just as good as the same priced new ones.

I'm sure the KS7000 will be as cheap as chips when they want to clear the stock some time next year most likely.

I'm still on a Panasonic GT50 which I love. It's all a bit confusing so I am reluctant to pull the trigger. Hopefully by the time Scorpio hits I will know which TV I need to go for.

Couldn't get on with it. I was still umming and arring this morning but my wife said if your not 100% happy send it back.

I wasn't desperate for a new TV I was happy with my panny plasma. Just fancied something new and 4k. I'll wait till next year see what comes out.

It is a great tv but it has a few flaws.

All tv's have flaws. No such thing as a perfect tv.

My panny plasma has image retention. Albeit a brilliant tv that blows most if not all lcd's out the water in terms of picture quality.

My Sony has android OS. But its used for console use only therefore I'm never using the smart os therefore makes zero difference and is a brilliant gaming tv.

My LG reflects light but i have it on an articulating arm and angle it away from light sources to stop that so it isn't an issue for me. Brilliant panel which supports HDR.

To my previous posts, turns out i was being a durp! I enabled uhd colour whilst playing the game. Today when i booted ratchet it booted in hdr mode so obviously just needed to restart the system or game once i changed the setting!

Cant say i can really notice much as i hadnt played much of the game before hdr. Still not really sure what hdr is lol

Trying to find a reason to upgrade my LG from (I think 2008/2009)

I use component, RCA and Scart (Amiga 1200) and run my next gens off HDMI. Freeview I use but that's it, worth upgrading it at all or shall I save my pennies?

It's 32" IIRC, 1080p/i No idea of the model number.
