Just pondering idly, we've all got stories of how we got from x to y late at night in record time, always raises a smile...
I'll go first: NYE 2004, Falmouth to Bedford, approx 320 miles in 4 hours 20m. Average of roughly 73mph. Was an awesome drive. Left falmouth at about 7pm and was home in time for midnight. Saw literally a dozen cars on the way (one of which cut me up in an otherwise totally deserted Milton Keynes!), empty, open, awesome roads.

the really stupid thing was the monday befor it had taken me an hour and a half to do the 20 odd miles from Guildford to bracknell!
