Your next mobile phone - what are you planning to buy and why?

I'm finding it hard to buy something to replace my trusty pixel 2xl. I paid £350 for it coming up to 5 years ago. Top end phones now are crazy money. I want a phone for work so thinking buy a decent one for myself and use the 2xl. Seen a pixel 6 for £320 so might plumb for that.

I'm thinking of moving from my s21 ultra over to a Samsung Fold 4/5 next year. I've had my eye on the fold for awhile and i'm quite intrigued by it. it's definitely piqued my interest and i'm rather bored of the s20+ series.

A foldable of some sort. Will rock my Pixel 6 Pro until the Pixel 8 release and see what options there are.

Probably the Galaxy Fold 5 or the rumored Pixel Fold.

Lol. Post aged poorly. Rocking the Fold4 since end of august.

Don't see myself replacing this for a number of years.

I'm really not sure yet as have a Xiaomi Mi 10t Lite. As an upgrade I think I want the same feature but also wireless charging.
It will have to have android 11 or better as need 3 bluetooth devices connected at the same time when at work.
Thinking about a Google or Xiaomi phone but still got plenty of investigation to do.

S23 or Pixel 7 Compact next year.

Hoping to have some confirmed information about the existence of the Compact before the S23 release date February 2023

IPhone 14 pro/max first choice
S22 Ultra/Plus if the above isn’t available and the price is right on EE
back up choice IPhone 13 Pro/Max
And if none of the above 14 plus.

Had my Oppo X5 Pro for nearly 8 months only, first time I spent over £1k on a phone and it's been absolutely perfect, nothing wrong with it, love it, could easily use it for another few years.

But I find myself keeping an eye on rumours for the next set of phones to be released in few months. Never thought I would be one of those that upgrades every year just to have the latest phone but it's getting more and more tempting :D

If Samsung actually put a decent charging speed (80w+) on their top end phone then I might actually S23U. If not then whatever the best super fast charging Chinese phone is, probably X6 Pro.

That's not happening Re: Samsung fast charging. They got burnt with the Note 7.

Ended up with a Nokia X30 to replace my pixel 3 and very happy with it so far. I'll be hanging onto this as long as it gets security updates, so 3 years at least.

Currently using 13 PM. Love the battery life, and the rest is… well iPhone.

I’ve tried stepping away from iPhone and went to S10. Many aspects I liked but the apple eco system was strong so came back.

Still tempted to try something different again, I may see what the future Samsung and Google phones are like.

It's really weird, and it's probably marketing geniuses to blame, but I am the complete opposite in that it's the ecosystem that puts me off iPhone. That and the notch. How they get away with that notch I'll never know.

Can't see me upgrading from my S21U

All I care about in phones now is camera. And as Huawei has so many restrictions Samsung it is.

I won't pay the latest generation premium. As its better to get the top spec older generation than "standard" current gen.

Nothing on horizon at the moment for me

The notch at first was weird, but like anything, I got used to it quickly and don't even notice it now.

I know what you mean regarding the eco sys, but it's not that I have other devices that I rely using an iPhone for, it's just more user friendly with the wife/family. Facetime, air tags for my kids (safety reasons), parental control over their devices etc etc.

I do really want to try something android, I've heard good things from people with S22U.

But it's silly things like not being able to pay contactless as Samsung pay doesn't support my banks app/method to pay. That's when I had the S10, so that may of changed now. I use my phone to pay 98% of the time, this was another big reason why I sold my S10 and came back to iphone.

Yes, that's changed - I use contactless all the time via Google, I don't use Samsung Pay.

I have this phone but scared to use without a tempered glass I tend to drop my phone. I'm gonna keep my eye out for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone but not Xiaomi.
