Its sounds like a good idea, and if the prices was right i would go for the 2nd option in the poll but... If the prices are anything like this http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CO-005-OE then no way would i purchase any game from ocuk. You guys are selling Skyrim at a higher price than what steam is offering :o

we are getting there eventually, pricing is not confirmed yet and It should be updated in a few days.

Will wait and see then, hope the outcome of the pricing is decent as i would love to purchase my games from a trustworthy source that is ocuk.

I have to commend OcUK for some of their prices though, especially the post that included Mass Effect 3, and now this one, it's showing that OcUK are trying their best to be competitive in the games market, and not just the hardware side.

Having a wider reach in things creates more money, which also creates more customers, and i've bought WOW, Crysis 2 and pre-ordered Battlefield:3 and Mass Effect:3 from OcUK.

great feedback 'Wes :)

Code sent via email, plus a confirmation of the physical copy being sent in the post later.
This would be my method of choice as well. BF3 ordered from ocuk, at a nice price and free delivery, cant be bad to that, ive ordered some games from a certain store in jersey, so far the shortest delivery time has been one week.

I would go for the key option, but only if the box were shipped to me later, or the price was considerably under retail prices.

In fact, if this were the case I'd cobcider moving existing pre-orders to OcUK.

Code emailed + physical copy in the mail.

Some games, such as MMO's activate normally at midnight. I wouldn't want to have to wait for the post man to turn up and already be 12 hours behind everybody by the time I get installed.

Might pre-order Bioshock: Infinite when a release date is set, also, someone spelt Rapture, Rature on the description.

With Steamworks releases it's all down to price. More often than not a retail copy is cheaper than downloading from Steam, so Overclockers prices would have to be the same or cheaper than buying from any other source for me to buy from them.

If I've ordered a retail copy and the price for just the code is cheaper than the boxed copy being sent to me then I'd probably ask for the code and not be bothered about the physical media at all.

So for me it's all about the price.

Because if you take Rage as an example, you could have bought it for around £23 with delivery from a few online retailers and got 4-5% cashback as well from Quidco or other similar cashback sites. So that's around a £9 saving on the Steam price and £8 on Overclockers price. Do that with 3 new games and the next game you buy is effectively free.

Although you can't knock Overclockers on service, dispatch times and delivery times on any of their products. Their game prices are just that £5-8 more expensive than other places you can buy the exact same product from and so for that reason I'm out :D

I've voted for the 2nd option, but that would be based on the price and nothing else I'm affraid.

Yup, agree with all that. Code immediately would be great, followed by the game in the post.

rjkoneil thanks for taking the time to ask us our opinion. It's stuff like that that really makes a difference.

Indeed.

I like the idea of getting the code emailed over straight away.:)

Nothing worse than waiting for the postman to deliver the big game release that your desperate to play and it turns out he doesn't have it in his postbag!

It only makes the difference if it's taken on board. ;)

He is the Oracle!

2nd option for me too but would still decide on price or if you offered some kind of loyalty reward for racking up purchases

Download codes are the way forward. The problem I see is that digital downloads are MORE expensive than their retail equivalents which puts me off sometimes.

Of course retail boxes have their uses for those who don't have fast internet or those collector types.(!).

I would prefer buying retail and having my code emailed instantly.

I prefer most of my games added to steam for the convenience. I used to have shelves of games but they took up too much space. My broadband connection is fast enough to not worry about installing off a disc.

If it is a game I REALLY want on release day and it is available on steam I will usually buy it on steam. If it is significantly cheaper elsewhere and can be added to steam and I'm not bothered about receiving it on release day I will order it elsewhere.

RAGE I ordered from shopto because it was significantly cheaper and I wasn't bothered about getting it on release day. I can also add it to steam.

Skyrim has been ordered from shopto, again it's cheaper and I'm at work that day so I don't want it on release day.

Dark souls I ordered from tesco entertainment because it was very cheap and it was limited edition. Again not bothered about getting it on release day.

BF3 I ordered from origin because I wanted it on release day. I could not find it significantly cheaper elsewhere after using the discount code from customer services. I was also after the extra map packs etc.

MW3 I haven't decided where to buy.

Greenmangaming are an excellent example of purchasing digital only games. If I want a steamworks game and it is available there at a cheaper price but slightly more than elsewhere I will buy it from there because you receive the code instantly. Payment is processed instantly.

If you can do the same as greenmangaming I'll most likely buy from ocuk. Even if I do not receive a retail box. As long as the offers are good as well I'm sold.
