Most of the stuff mentioned here doesn't bother me much, really, but one peeve I do have is games that automatically save on exit and then, on next startup, put you back nowhere near the place you left off. This is especially grating if there's no quicksave or other in-game save option (I'm talking single-player here).
I hate it when I leave off after having reached a base or any other reasonable set-off point, getting healed, getting my inventory in order, having checked the map on where to go to next, working out the best route, exiting, and then end up being put into the middle of some blasted hut quarter of a map away.
The two main culprits of this at the moment are Just Cause 2 and Dead Island. Otherwise these are both excellent games that are let down by this one point.
